This was the perfect replacement for my Green Works which is attachment compatible. It was easy to install & works perfectly, it saved me from having to buy a new one. My only negative comment is that it doesn't come with a hexagon key &, although I have a jar full of them, none fit this size; I had to go out another one & when it was all said & done (between gas, time & cost), I almost spent as much as the replacement part. Hopefully, you won't have my problem & I recommend it.

I was surprised to find "JAPAN" cast on the body of this gearbox. The quality of the machining that is visible, the quality of the parts such as screws, and the feel if the gears suggest that it truly is made in Japan. The product description claimed that it fit several different trimmers, including the Echo SRM 225, which I have. I seem to have made it work, but the screw holes the attach the guard did not quite line up. I drilled the holes in the guard about 1/32 inch over and that was enough to line things up. The diameter of the sleeve that accepts the shaft was very slightly oversize to my trimmer. I shimmed the shaft slightly and it is working so far after about five or a bit more hours of use. There's a locking screw that is ninety degrees wrong for the hole in the Echo shaft, so I had to drill one for that. Probably this is an exact fit for one of the other trimmers listed, and it looks so far to be a very good part, especially for the price. I'm not confident my modifications will hold up, and I only have a few hours on the part. I am reluctant to recommend it for the Echo, but I'm not sorry I gambled on it myself.

Great accessory to be added to a weed eater. It helps to clear bushers.

I've been using it with .130" trimmer line and it has functioned well so far. I used it on an old BC2200E Redmax.

To make it fit on Ryoby/Homelite square drive trimmer, you may have to drill a dimple in the outer pipe housing wall so that the hex bolt can keep the unit anchored on to the trimmer body pipe. Don’t drill hole through the pipe wall.

It's made in Japan, has grease port, use tube and add small amount or you can blow seals or drill and tap small release hole.
