Why so many dumb reviews on this awesome product?
I'm not one for writing reviews but after almost being dissuaded from purchasing this product by reading a slew of dumb reviews (like who decides to bake a potato in a rice cooker or who is confused at reading the simple instructions?) I decided to write one in the hopes that you will find this and this will help you make a decision whether to purchase or to not. I'm a simple guy who is terrible at cooking rice and has to feed a family of 6 regularly (not including the occasional guest that pops in unexpectedly). This rice cooker is awesome and I question why I waited so long to buy one. Sure, you could get a better one by dropping a couple hundred bucks on a fancy model but for what this does, it does it well. It takes about 35 minutes to cook rice for that many people. Yes, you can cook it faster by doing it the old fashioned way, but I find it very convenient to put the rice on first and just forget about it while I'm cooking the rest of the food. It makes juggling the stove much easier and frees up a burner slot so I could cook something else instead of micro-managing rice. The cup provided with the rice cooker is 3/4 the size of a regular cup of rice but even still one cup per person is more than enough. Put your rice in in and then fill the conveniently marked bowel with water up to the number of cups you used. For example, place 6 cups of rice and then fill with water up to the "6" marked line on the inside of the bowel. Easy-peasy. You DO have to rinse your rice off before you start the cooker to get rid of extra starch but this process only takes a minute or less and you don't need special tools or anything. I just put in the rice, add a bit of water, swirl it around, carefully drain the water out (the water will turn milky white), and literally rinse and repeat until the water is more or less clear upon draining. The rice comes out fluffy and great with nothing burned on the bottom of the pot. I've also cooked other things in the rice cooker as well like a beef stew and chili. Each time I cut up the meat, tossed it in, chopped up veggies, added water and spices, closed the lid and hit the "slow cooker" option. It says it will take 7 hours but a pot roast (cut into 3-5 inch cubes) only took about 4 hours to cook and the meat was just falling apart. SO GOOOOD! The instructions are simple and whenever you use this rice cooker please use the cup provided for easy measuring. Other than that it was worked great, cleans super easy, easy to operate, and does what it's supposed to do. You won't be disappointed. Hope this review helps! Also, feel free to ask me some questions if you have any. I'm no scientist but I might be able to help as well.

Why The Hate? Its Sublime! Cooks Perfect Jasmine Rice For Me EVERY Time~
I really don't get it...Despite its 4.5 star reviews I've seen so many conflicting reviews about this product, and even worse when I asked questions I got horrifying responses back! Such as "its garbage," "don't buy it!" which is surprising in and of itself. Regardless, I decided to take a leap of faith with this and...it totally paid off! I absolutely LOVE it! First off, I'm a senior university student living on my own in a shared house and as far as everything goes we share nothing here. To lighten the load on my stunning pots/pans set and the stove that all of us have to share I decided that I needed a rice cooker. Now I'm totally not ready to drop $100 on a cooker yet, and so not only quality was significant for me, but price as well. This product appealed to me not only because of the price and the brand, but because its not only a rice cooker! So, so far I have not utilized any of the other functions this lovely product provides but its rice-cooking function, but for me that function alone is good enough for me~ I'll note that it came with everything that it was supposed to - a steam tray, inner pot, rice spoon thing, and measuring cup. The product did not appear to be damaged and when I plugged it in it was functional and displaying how it should be. Now I'm not sure why there are so many disparaging answers and reviews on this awesome rice cooker. So far I have utilized it several times and each batch of jasmine rice I make in it has come out absolutely perfect! I'm just going to assume that its all mostly user-error, with the occasional rare blip in a product that was sent out faulty, because this lovely cooker DOES come with an instruction book that is extremely clear-cut and easy to read and follow. All I did was read the instructions carefully first, then re-read them again when I decided to start cooking rice with it! First it gives you detailed instructions on cleaning it - which seemed very important (so if I were you I would not skip this first step), though before you use just about anything I think you should clean it anyway. Then when you're ready to get cooking it tells you to rinse your rice out as well - another important step I made sure not to miss. I used a strainer specifically made for rinsing rice to make sure all the starchy, cloudy water is absconded from the rice before following the rest of the steps and filling the black inner chamber. Though the cup you receive does not seem traditional (its 3/4) that does not matter. Utilize it and nothing else and just fill the rice up to the 3/4 line - that's a cup. Since I am cooking for one person I usually just do the minimum 2 cups of rice and store the leftovers in the fridge. The inner chamber has measurement lines and you just fill it up EXACTLY to the numbered line that corresponds with how many cups of rice you are doing. For example, if you are doing 2 cups of rice like how I do then you would fill the pot up to the second line. So far I've utilized this cooker several times since getting it and each time I've gotten a perfect, aromatic, and delicious, fluffy batch of white jasmine rice! You could say that I got this cooker specifically for cooking jasmine rice, since the rice can be trickier to cook over a stove and I wanted something frustration-free and this cooker is it. So if you are looking for something that is versatile and can cook different types of rice then I can confidently say that this is it! As I pointed out earlier I haven't utilized the slow-cooker feature or the steam feature, but I may utilize the former sometime in the future and when I do I'll be sure to update my review; however, I have no doubts that I'd have any issues with the slow cooking feature since its rice cooking feature is immaculate. My entire point is that following instructions is crucial. they put those in to help you and to make sure you are getting the proper results that you are supposed to from their product. Some people don't realize that a lot of times it is not the product's fault, but the user's. This wonderful cooker definitely deserves its 5 stars and this college student is very satisfied. And for $37 you really are getting a bang for your buck in my opinion. So please do not listen to all of the pessimism - get this if you are considering it. I promise you will not be disappointed! (But please follow the directions exactly to ensure optimal results).

Workhorse rice cooker
I’ve had this rice cooker for almost 8 years now and this thing is a workhorse, I’ve had zero issues and it just keeps on cooking rice perfectly time and time again. It’s big but expected for 20 cups. Easy to clean.

Totalmente recomendado.

I bought this rice cooker a couple months ago, and so far it cooks excellent white and brown rice! I am Asian and we pretty much cook rice everyday. I have tried white jasmine rice and white basmati rice and the texture comes out perfect all the time, with or without the delay setting. I have also tried brown jasmine rice and red cargo rice and they also turn out with perfect results. The rice is soft, tender, fluffy and grains are separate. I do find better results when you SOAK the rice for at least 30 mins. before starting to cook, or use the delay timer. Even if you don't, there is minimal browning on the bottom. I think the trick is to RINSE the rice thoroughly until the water runs pretty much clear. The more starch you remove from the rice, the less browning on the bottom you will have. When I wash the rice really well, there is no browning at the bottom at all. I think maybe if you keep the rice too long on the "warm" setting, this might cause some browning because I'm not too sure how hot the temp of the bottom plate gets that keeps the rice warm for hours. I have followed the instructions from the manual to the "T" for how many cups of rice to put and where to fill the water line. I have never had any problems with spills or overflowing water whether I'm cooking white or brown rice. So far, I have cooked as much as 6 cups uncooked rice with no mess. As for cleaning, like some other reviewers, I usually use a paper towel. I do remove the black knob above the inside of the lid each time I cook rice and the clear water catcher and wash those with soap and water. I have young kids, so I find baby wash cloths do a great job at wiping the inside of the lid as well. The inner rice container washes easily with soap and water, or I suppose you could also put it in your dish washer. Overall, having used this product for 2 months, just about everyday, it works like more expensive brands/models for a fraction of the price. I am still in disbelief how cheap it is for stainless steel, fuzzy logic technology and with how well it cooks rice. I haven't tried steaming or slow cooking in it yet, so I will add to my comment when I do. I anticipate those functions to work great since the "main" function of this product cooks amazing rice!

Not value for the price

Muy fácil de usar, realmente en algunas ocasiones no sale en las mejores condiciones todo el arroz (algunas partes se pegan), pero es mínimo. Muy grande para mi gusto 😅, pero muy buena.
