Like some people stated it is thinner then average, but I just bought 2 and crochet with both at once for areas I need the extra thickness. I'm making a dragon inspiderd shawl, so certain areas need to be thicker so I can add stuffing (mostly the dragons head) and then the scales are looser so it doesn't get too hot to wear.
