Interstate Batteries 12V 55Ah Deep Cycle Mobility Battery Group 22NF VRLA SLA AGM (Insert Terminal) Rechargeable Replacement for Wheelchairs, Scooters, ATVs, Solar Power (DCM0055)

This is the second one of these batteries I have purchased. In both cases it was to use with a Duracell Power Bank that has provisions for an external deep discharge 100 AH lead acid AGM battery like this. I have had the first one for about 2 years with no problems and just got the second one installed on a second Duracell Power Bank. First the obvious - The battery is as big and very heavy as you’d expect from the description. I used a dolly to roll it to where it was installed and I felt sorry for the UPS delivery person. If this is a new installation I recommend the use of a side terminal style automotive type knife switch, a 200 Amp automotive fuse, and #2 AWG battery cables (with 3/8” lugs). While the 3/8” lugs are slightly larger than optimal for the battery post, they work. I received the battery and assumed I’d have to charge it for several hours on my 10A charger before installing it, but it actually was fully charged in less than half an hour meaning it was fully charged when I got it. By the way when connecting heavy duty batteries like this in parallel, charge each separately first (at the same environmental temperature) then connect - otherwise the fully charged battery will attempt to instantaneously recharge the one that’s low when you connect it, leading to a heavy surge when connected. Batteries like this are serious potential energy hazards - read the warnings and instructions. Add a fuse, at least, in the event of a wiring short. Although 12 Volts is quite safe in terms of a shock hazard - You get a metal short across the terminal or wiring and you will have a bad day! Be warned - Wear no rings or metal watches when connecting these. The battery itself - Top quality, received fully charged, is exactly as described. The built in battery lift handles are a bit different than the picture, but not a problem. My previous experience is that in normal usage for an emergency power bank it is quite reliable.

Works great as a replacement deep cycle battery in my Duracell PowerSource 660. Super easy swap, fits perfectly, was the right size and capacity.

I purchased this battery about 5 yrs ago now. It was incorporated into a National Luna Intelligent Dual Battery System, designed by them of overlanding in the backcountry. This system monitors the status of both the primary vehicle battery and this secondary power source. When driving, the vehicles alternator charges both batteries and the Intelligent Dual Battery System keeps this secondary battery from over, or under charging. In the last 5 yrs I've traveled thousands of van camping miles through 45 states, on the road for as long as 6 months at a time. Im BLOWN away that this battery can still run my 60watt compressor refrigerator/freezer for about 6+ hrs nightly, even after evening auxiliary device usage,without charging! Will run consistently at 12.4 volts. Ive trusted this battery setup while boondocking in the high desert in Nevada and its never been a problem ! My primary battery is also a high amp Interstate . DEPENDABILITY is what's gets in done, LONGEVITY keeps getting it done and this battery does IT ALL. Bought it during a promo, and its probably the best battery purchase I've ever made. It's still going strong and still accepting and keeping fully charged. Getting ready to hit the road again and with the amazing confidence that this Interstate Battery provides! used a replacement starter battery for my big kubota diesel generator. worked great, plenty of power to fire it up.

They only last 4 to 6 months, I bought them insurance and it's useless, they didn't give me a solution, poor quality

First off, the "one star" rating is not for the battery...it is for the seller (First Web Sales). I asked a simple question on manufacturing date on this battery and received a blunt (possibly computer generated) response. Unacceptable. I sent a picture to them of the battery's stamping asking for manufacturing date. From what I can see (and I don't know) the stamp says A2D3636F38 and 1WK1H. Did an online search (and Interstate Battery search) and did not come up with anything useful. As for the battery itself, came in fine, voltage out of the box was 13.1 volts. Ran it through a couple of discharges/charges and it performs very well. Amazon has been notified. UPDATE (April 5, 2018) - Interstate Batteries did reach out to me. Thanks. Rating is now 4-stars. I actually own three of these U-1 size 35 aH deep cycle AGM batteries. I use them in my backyard ammo can micro solar generators. I find them quite "stout" and charge up relatively fast. Refer to the stamping for correct bulk and float charging. I charge mine up to 14.5 and float at about 13.2 volts. MADE IN CHINA on the box and on the sticker. Not sure if they are a knock-off or something else. But, from what I can assert...they perform well.

I used this to replace my battery in my nature's generator. It is a bit smaller, so I used cardboard to support underneath it and behind it. It has a lower storage cap than the original battery, but still works fine!

Absolutely fantastic. What a hassle getting the bolts. They should be included with the batteries. When I finally got them installed they were terrific. Finally getting the proper distance without worrying whether they would lasy.

Well, so far so good. Bought the 22NF size at 55 AMH. Two of them for my dads Fortress 1700 DT scooter. My previous battery's where an MK brand at 51 AMH so I squished 7 AMH more out of them. Moreover, the last batteries were GEL and these are AGM glass mat. From what I understand they are better to charge and discharge in Canadian winter. The charger is 8 amps so they are good to go in the morning after outside charging. Looked into heated lithium 22NF (100 AMH each) batteries but they required a 10-20 Amp charger for the heat pads to activate for charging to start them here in Canada when below a certain temperature. Discharge not a problem as I understand the technology. I would have to change the charger for these and did not know if the scooter would handle them. So far so good. Purchased extra warranty. Interstate provided 12 months. They use to provide one of the best warranties in the market. Seems those days are gone. Will update this feedback if necessary. So far power to distance ratio for the scooter is good compared to MK brand.
