Good filter
It seems oil filters are getting worse and worse quality. You've seen videos and reviews on the internet. These filters are very well made and just a bit more expensive. Why take a chance on your engine for a few dollars?

Heavy Duty filter
The Napa Platinum is normally my go-to filter for our 2 Chevy Silverados. However, Napa has been out of stock for over a year of the Platinum filters that I need. I tried a couple Purolator Boss filters, but I'm not a big fan of their bypass valve setup. I watched a You tube video where a guy cut open a Baldwin filter. It looks of really good quality, so I picked up 2 of these for my shelf for my next 2 oil changes. Haven't used them yet, but I fully expect they'll do their job and filter the oil as designed. I'm always hesitant to buy oil filters on Amazon, in the past they arrive in just a padded envelope. But thank you to Amazon, these 2 filters arrived in an actual carboard box.

packaging could have been better ...
I've used Baldwin filters for decades .. very good quality. I have yet to install this one, which I've purchased as a higher quality replacement for another brand. I appreciate the quick shipping, but all oil filters come individually packaged in a rectangular (light) cardboard box which doesn't fit neatly into one of those little air-padded envelopes. The filter packaging was disturbed, but the filter itself appears OK .. but would encourage AMZN to re-visit the appropriateness of packaging to ensure items arrive in the best possible condition.

My father was a mechanic. He always used Baldwin filters on his vehicles. I never did because they're a little hard to get. I now have a vehicle with direct injection and fuel management which can lead to problems if you don't use quality oil and filters. So now I'm using Baldwin. I've seen some other posts online that speak highly of them. Time will tell.
