ESSEyewear CDI Polarized Mirror Gray Glasses 740-0529

I'm fairly small - a lot of sunglasses I've tried are too big for me - so I figured these would be about right, since they say they're a medium fit. But they're actually WAY too small, and a strange shape to boot. The arms strongly curve instead of being straight, as for someone with a very small head. The nosepiece is very awkward as well, only contacting my nose in one place (which happens to be right at the spot where you pinch it to slow down a nosebleed, making it throb while wearing them) and riding high. It's actually kind of painful to wear them for more than a minute or so at a time; I can't imagine they would fit anyone bigger, even though their website claims it's a universal size.So I had to return them, which is a shame because the lens quality is great. Although they say it only transmits 9% of light, it's not too dark for moderately low-light situations, and of course it's easy to swap out lenses. There are other similar ones available (like Native, which I'm going to try next), but they're more difficult to change lenses, and of course not mil spec either (although they do have Z87).So if you have a short head (front to back) and a nose that's very high and narrow in the middle, these might be great for you. If not, you'd be better off elsewhere.

I've owned 3 pairs of CDI's in the past they've always come with a set of clear lenses until this set, that was a let down.In the bottom left corner "polarized" is etched into the lenses. They Etched the ANSI stuff over the frame so you can't see it but this "polarized" is constantly in your peripheral vision reminding you of the item to intentionally purchased and likely don't need a reminder of blocking your vision.I've put my old frames through hell one got ran over by an uparmored HMMWV and didn't break the rubber got pitted but I wore them for 3 more months before replacing them.Update: this new pair barely lasted a year. Huge disappointment from what I've come to expect from ESS. The rubber fell off while I was spotting at an offroad race so I couldn't go back. The lenses pitted easily.

Item was shipped in a timely manner product is light and durable and I would certainly buy it again.

I have really enjoyed this product from ESS, I use their goggles at work everyday and I have another pair of sunglasses I use at the range. The CDI's are nice and lenses come out very easy for cleaning and to swap them with another set.

I love the ESS CDI sunglasses and have been wearing them since I was in the military from 2008-12. I have since left the military but still wear the ESS CID sunglasses. They have easy interchangable lenses; different color lenses, and very durable frames (got run over by car and only lenses broke; frame stayed in one piece); lost a pair too, but have since purchased a 2nd pair to keep in my car and one for every-day use. I highly recommend.

Was issued a pair of these while I was still with the Coast Guard. My old pair lasted me well over 3 years before the got lost. Durable lenses and frames made me order another set.

Have used this brand for 10 years, including all 8 years in the Army. Well worth the money. Good quality for the price and are resilient!

My wife bought me the CDI glasses for Christmas. So far they have been the best glasses I have ever owned. The interchangeable lenses are awesome. I have the bronze set as well. It's great to be able to pick the type of lens you want based on the conditions. Durability is at a very high level as well. I would highly recommend them.
