Product replaced a touch thermometer which was had a very inconsistent temp readout. The non touch thermometer was much easier to use with an immediate readout. However this advantage was negated by an inaccurate temp readout. I notifiied Amazon and received a very quick replacement which appears to be very accurate. So my rating is for the replacement thermometer.

I bought this on a whim to replace a Vivitar infra-red thermometer that just stopped working. The price was attractive and it seemed to have the features I was looking for. I've been using it daily since it arrived and so far it is performing like a champ. I paid four times the price for the vivitar and this one does exactly the same things. It is lightweight, which made me skeptical on opening the box, but it appears that though the housing is cheap plastic, the optics/infra-red components work very well! Touchless, fast, and accurate. What else can I say?

I was originally hoping this could be used for food and house use, but it is really made to determine if a human has a fever or not and does a great job doing so. In a matter of seconds it is color coded to tell you where that person is in the range, and in this time of day is very important to tell temperature quickly. This makes it great for companies and organizations but also my family. It seems fairly accurate in terms of making quick checks which also makes it great for checking kids temperatures. The price is a little more than I was expecting to pay, but otherwise I would recommend this for everyone.

I was looking for a simple, easy to use non-contact infrared thermometer for my mother who is 103 years old and can’t be bothered with the oral thermometers. This particular infrared thermometer uses 2x AAA batteries ( not provided), easy to insert at the bottom. There are only 2 settings : baby bottle temperature and humans. After 4 days of use :it is accurate, reliable and easy to use. In addition to showing the temperature there are green , orange and red lights for easy reference. I have already recommended this model to friends because it is not necessary to purchase a more expensive version.

Bought this thermometer based on star count. I should have actually read the reviews. My copy of this thermometer when tested against a traditional thermometer is consistently 2 whole degrees off. It regularly reads at 96.4-8 degrees against the traditional thermometer at 98.5-7. Due to consistency we can assume that 2 degrees when we test temperature but beware of accuracy when spending your money on this product. If there was a way to calibrate it that would be ideal but unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a way to do that.

that failed after 3 years of occasional use & most of its time in a drawer in the bathroom. Read several descriptions and reviews and decided to buy this one. I like the features and ease of use. The accuracy is very good for people, but I have not used it for objects or food yet so I cannot give any opinion on those features.
