I can't seem to justify deducting a star for that reason because it's not a question of quality or functionality. It's just something to be aware of.The bottle carries a generous amount of water but if it doesn't satisfy your needs, they do have growler size that you can look into. The double-walled protection is perfect cause it keeps your liquids cold and hot for hours. I mean I have ice cubes still in the bottle that last til the end of the day. I know there has been a bit of hubbub about the cap/seal and I agree with them all that it's a bit cheap for such a high-quality bottle BUT I haven't dealt with anything in terms of leakage or issues about the cap. The only thing that happens is sometimes when I open the bottle with one hand and forget to hold back the cap-it slaps me in the face and I look stupid but again no reason to deduct stars.Its an awesome bottle-so much better than those nalgene or klean kanteen ones AND it's damn sexy. ### ⭐ Poor performance *by K***K on October 11, 2013* I received the black 7502bk bottle yesterday and of course wanted to put it to the test. I filled the bottle with about 1/5th ice and the rest cold soda (very cold). After about 4-5 hours the soda was already warming and the ice had clearly melted, quickly for what is supposed to be a high performance insulated bottle.I previously purchased the Lifeline 7500 stainless 64 oz growler and I can tell you that it performs amazingly. It will keep a drink and ice "ice cold" for 24 hours easy. This bottle however, the 40 oz, performs very poorly comparatively.It's possible that I received a bad bottle (maybe the vacuum area was not sealed properly and has air in it for example) but I see no visible evidence of this.Also not long after filling the bottle I noticed the outside of the bottle was getting cold... a clear sign that there's a transfer of heat occurring and the insulation is not working up to snuff.So based on the performance I've experienced and the cost of the bottle I have to give it 1 star as it's not working anywhere close to as expected. I've used other bottles (including the Thermos 24oz large hydration bottle that works significantly better than this bottle.So my suggestion is to either move up to the Lifeline 64oz stainless growler (and get stainless not painted) or the Thermos line of stainless vacuum insulated bottles. ### ⭐⭐ Quality Standards = Standard Qualities *by T***S on June 23, 2013* I like the bottle; size, insulating properties (I use it just for water), large mouth for drinking/cleaning. However, the lid does not function at all and you are unable to secure it tight enough to stop leaks, as it will simply skip off the threads. When stopping just prior to this point, the lid simply can be popped off with the slightest pressure, so I couldn't even trust it to lay down in the shoulder bag I carry to work. In researching hundreds of bottles, all with the same reported "lid" issues and not being willing to pay $50-$100 dollars, I simply wrapped the bottle threads with a half width strip of electricians tape, sealing the lid perfectly with the proper snug fit. So, 2 stars because fitting a lid to a bottle isn't rocket science. Seems to be the standard anymore; if you want products that perform to minimum standards, it's going to require more than what manufacturers are willing to provide.
