## Description

Product Description Lightweight and understated, this Kershaw Leek features an olive green handle that brings a hint of muted color to the classic EDC design. The drop point blade design is made from high-performance Sandvik 14C28N steel, with a bead-blasted finish. Paired with a contoured olive anodized aluminum handle that provides a secure, comfortable grip. Designed for safety, this EDC has a dual locking system – a frame lock that secures the blade while open and a tip-lock slider that keeps it closed when folded. Reversible pocketclip supports right-handed use in either tip-up or tip-down position. Built for those who value both form and function, the Kershaw Leek is a versatile and reliable EDC knife. From the Manufacturer There are lots of very good reasons the Leek is one of the most popular Kershaw's. For one thing, the slim blade is remarkably versatile. This modified drop-point blade shape gives it good slicing capabilities, while the slim tip lets it excel at piercing and detail work. The blade steel is high-performance Sandvik 14C28N stainless that sharpens to a razor edge and holds the edge for a good long time. The 3-inch blade is perfect for most day-to-day tasks. Leek lovers also love the fast and easy opening provided by Speed Safe assisted opening. Whether you're left-handed or right-handed, a simple pull back on the ambidextrous flipper or push outward on the thumb stud and the Leeks blade is ready to go to work. But the newest and most obvious thing about this Leek is the olive drab handle color. The color is eye-catching and different, but also discrete. The olive drab color is fade-resistant, scratch-resistant and permanently bonded to the anodized aluminum—so it looks good now and looks good later, too. For safety, a locking liner keeps the blade locked open during use and a Tip-Lock slider locks it closed when folded. The pocket clip is reversible for tip-up or tip-down carry and the handle is drilled to accept a lanyard. This slim, easy-to-carry design, with plenty of cutting versatility just may be the perfect EDC. Made In The USA, Flipper, Speed Safe, Liner Lock, Reversible.

Review: Quality knife (thin and sleek) - Compact knife, thin profile, fits in a pocket with no bulk. Quite small in my hand, but I'm not using it for heavy duty tasks. Arrives sharp, and the spring assisted deploy is very responsive. Good value pocket knife for the price.
Review: Super nice for it's intended use - I needed a new EDC for light duty use and this fits the bill. Highlights: -Speedsafe action is snappy and a pleasure to use. -Finish is smooth but not slippery, perfect. -Love the understated olive drab w/stainless steel blade. The contrasting color scheme works and it's mellow enough looking for EDC at work. The orange looks nice as well, and easy to find if placed somewhere, but I prefer the muted color of the olive drab for EDC. For camping a bright color is nice. Some things to consider: -It has a thumb stud that protrudes on both sides of the blade. It also serves as a blade stopper. If using the thumb screw(s) to open be careful. I find that if I only use my thumb to open the blade, my thumb can easily slip forward during the opening of the blade, and I've come close to slicing my thumb. I probably won't ever use the studs to open but when I do, I find that using my thumb in conjunction with my forefinger works better. Better control and no slipping on to the blade. -The blade "open" lock is fine. I have no need for it however. It's not like this thing will just magically open in your pocket. It takes a purposeful effort. I'll probably tighten the screw down so it never locks on it's own. Right now, as new, it's a non-issue but I can see it getting looser and start locking unintentionally. -The lock bar is plastic, some complain but there's a reason for it. The lock can be "locked" when the blade is open, and if closed while the lock is engaged the blade will fall on the lock bar. If it were metal, this could damage the blade. -This is a light duty EDC for me. If you work on a dock or similar and need a work knife to open heavy cardboard and cut straps all day every day then get an appropriate knife with a more substantial heavy duty blade.. -The finish is smooth, but not totally smooth. It's anodized steel with a shot-peen type of finish. It's perfect for my EDC, but if working with oily or wet hands, not at all ideal. Get something with G10 and a proper rough grip. Love it so far and i have no idea why some complain that it rides high in the pocket. It's fine/normal compared to other knives I've had, including Kershaw. 4-5 times the money of a drug store knife, 10x the value. EDIT: I now see how if you carry point up, the knife rides much higher. The lock mechanism takes up real estate at the bottom of the handle if carried this way it rides higher. I carry point down so no issue in that config.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Recently moved to Indiana from California and have been having rust issues. How can I remove and prevent further rust buildup?**
A: I use Mobile One gear lube 75 w90 for my knives. Put a dime sized spot on a paper towel and rub it in. It removes marks on the blade too.

**Q: hello, please write me the size of this knife.**
A: Blade:~7.75cm/3", handle:~10cm/4". Overall length:~17.75cm/7"

**Q: What is the diffreance between 1660ckt and 1660 n3x?**
A: 1660CKT is the Leek (1660) in satin black. 1660N3X is not a model of that Kershaw has ever produced to my records.

**Q: Will the knife work properly if I remove the clip ?**
A: The clip is not needed for basic knife functions. Though, it makes it much easier to access when the knife is clipped to your pocket. It has been the best everyday carry knife I have owned, hands down.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent knife... but use the lock!
*by C***H on August 16, 2022*

It really is an excellent little knife. Lightweight but sturdy, slender but feels good in the hand, nice factory edge and a good blade geometry. It opens well and quickly and locks without too much difficulty even one-handed. Just make sure you use the lock. I just got back from traveling and went to retrieve the knife from my checked luggage. Either I had forgotten to lock it or it unlocked in the jostling, because reaching in I found the tip of the blade first. Ouch. Next time I'll rubberband it!
