I can see how people would be confused by the way the layers separate that it is only 2 layers but I don’t believe that to be the case. I think the fabric is “double woven” making 2 thin layers appear to be 1 layer.The fabric is soft, fluffy, light weight, and the size of the blanket is wonderful. Washes up like a dream even without any softeners, and does not warp. The colors are the same as pictured and the stitching is very nice. I’m surprised I didn’t have to pay more for this item and my son loves it. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Super cute and very lightweight *by S***I on April 13, 2016* This is a lovely blanket, beautiful pattern. It is fairly large and works great as a blanket for my toddler to cover up with at night, is too big to easily use in the stroller without dragging on the ground. That being said, it is not comparable to the Aden & Anais dream blanket, which is also described as being 4 layers. We have several A&A blankets, the dream blanket, swaddling blankets, a stroller blanket and a muslin one from target that is big like the dream blanket but thinner. So to compare this one... It is big like a dream blanket but very thin, almost as thin as a swaddling blanket. It is soft and smooth feeling and we are planning on using it in the bed for those hot summer nights when the dream blanket will be too heavy. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ lightweight but lovely! *by C***S on June 12, 2016* I would have given this 5 stars but it's thinner than I expected; it feels more like 2 layers of muslin swaddle, not 4. If you're looking for a winter blanket, the Aden Anais Dream Blanket is more appropriate. However, this is a perfect lightweight summer blanket or newborn swaddle.
