OLAES 4" Modular Bandage

Cannot express just how awesome the OLAES design is for a trauma bandage. I originally just knew they incorporated a pressure cup that could double as an eye cup... and purchased to cover that base in trauma bag... but subsequently studied up more on them and was amazed at the versatility of the design which also incorporates folded gauze that can be removed for wound packing and even an occlusive dressing all within the single bandage. Provides a tremendous range of care options in a single bandage. Really an exceptional design!

I love this trauma bandage. Two weeks ago I used this bandage on a shooting victim and performed superbly. The fact that under the main trauma pad there is a hidden compartment with a piece of plastic to be used as an occlusive dressing and 3 meters of z fold gauze that can be used to do everything from packing wounds to being used as a wrap is pretty awesome. The pressure bar and cup does a good job of directing extra downward pressure where it is needed on the wound. I also like that the material in the bandage wrap has velcro every few feet to prevent it from rolling all the way out when you are applying the bandage. I highly recommend this product for your medical kit.

An EMT friend of mine just turned me on to this item and I'm glad he did. I am used to using Israeli Bandages and this serves the same function however it has a couple interesting features. For one, it has removable gauze stashed inside the bandage so if you need to cover an entry and exit wound then you have the gauze for one side and the regular bandage part for the other! The little cup which serves to add pressure when you wrap a wound can also be used to protect an eye injury.One issue I have with this item is that once you open the tan main packaging, the bandage is not in another smaller plastic bag like traditional Israeli bandages. This isn't a major issue but I would have prefered that it came in another smaller sterile plastic bag. All in all, I really like this product.

I got these for my daughter who is a Registered Nurse. She wanted to put together a first aid kit for her car. These are amazingly versatile bandages that I've used in Iraq. After showing my daughter some of the video tutorials, she's impressed as well.

I liked the extra uses that come with these over the Israeli bandage. I like being able to pull out gauze if needed. Also the piece of plastic inside in case of a chest would.I do wish they were closer in price.

Works great! Friend of mine skipped out of a log and got himself with the axe... wasn't lined up right and gave himself a good sized deep gash right on the shin..If it weren't for this we probably would of had to call the camping trip early and headed to get stitches or wraps from the towns store. Better to practice safety but glad we had this to stop the bleeding that trip until we got home the next day.

I first came across the OLAES about 10 years ago while working over seas. The features are better in the more important aspects such as the type of pressure plate they have in comparison to others. Many other trauma dressings dont have a device as well thought out and effective as this. This is what I personally carried and trusted my life to 10 years ago and still do to this day. The packaging isn't the smallest on this model, but they do offer other packaging options depending on how you carry it.

Multi use and sterile. Very versatile and priced right.
