## Questions & Answers

**Q: Can you turn it on and off via your smartphone app? I don't want it on when I or someone I know is at home. I only want it on when the house is empty**
A: no, you cant reboot/restart or turn it off/on via phone app or web browser. The only way to turn it off/on is but disconnecting the power locally.

**Q: Anyone get this working with Samsung Smarthings?**
A: No, it doesn't not work with smart things as of the date of this posting. Many threads online and feedback from owners thinking Samsung cameras would work with a Samsung Hub. Some have been waiting 2 years (since this camera came out0 and unfortunately, the camera and hub do not connect yet.

**Q: What happens if the SD card runs out of room? Will it "start over?" or will it just stop recording?**
A: There's a setting to choose "continuous" -- if set, the camera will record about 30GB to a 32GB card and then start overwriting the oldest recordings. I find a 32GB card with motion and sound activation can last two or more weeks in a busy location. If you turn off "continuous" the camera will record till the card is full, then continue to send alerts, but without recordings on the local card.I'll also mention we found this HD Plus to have inferior low light sensitivity compared to the SmartCam HD (SNH‑P6410BN) and both cameras have a lot of noisy, dead pixels in low light. The software is also very slow, cumbersome and inconvenient if you're checking multiple cameras. The notification process is quickly overwhelmed and becomes unwieldy. At least it is free, but if you want a local recording off the memory card, you have to be able to access the camera (stop its recordings manually in the software at the browser or smartphone app) then retrieve the card and read off the video files using a computer. Reviewing video events using the browser or phone app is also impossibly time-consuming and laborious with no productivity tools to simplify reviewing video. It's just not well designed for actual home security applications. Personally, as no "expert" but with a years of experience in multiple locations with a variety of home security surveillance cameras, I think there are better solutions for similar costs, with the advantage of better productivity when actually using the system, and without paying for monthly fees or sending private video to unknown vendor servers.

**Q: Is it normal for this camera to get hot? I just installed it and it seems to get very warm, bordering on hot.**
A: It normal for new device to get warm but not too warm (hot). Turn it off and let it cool off a bit. If it gets really hot again, try to plug it on a different outlet. If the problem continues, please return it for a new one.

Great Replacement for Logitech 750n + Blue Iris

*by T***L on Reviewed in the United States on January 6, 2016*

The quality that comes from this camera is amazing. It blows away my old Logitech 750n camera. My old Logitech camera got the IR red light of death that never went off and was forever frozen. I searched around the internet trying to find another camera that I could use to replace it that was as similar as possible to that camera since Logitech has decided to discontinue it. In comes the Samsung SmartCam HD Plus SNH-V6414BN.For those of you that say the picture is grainy or that the camera won't work your problem probably lies in your internet speed. I have TWC 100mbps internet and I have about a 1 second delay and it is yet to drop. I also have it connected via a wireless router, the NETGEAR Nighthawk AC1900 Dual Band Wi-Fi Gigabit Router (R7000). On top of all of that I have it running through Blue Iris Full Version Supports Up to 64 IP Cameras which in my opinion is the best security camera monitoring system. The instructions to set up the camera come in English, French, and Spanish. On one side it lists how to set up the camera using iOS, and on the other side it shows you to set up the phone using an Android phone.Step 1: Take the camera out of the box and attach the usb cable. Then, plug in the adapter into the wall outlet so that the camera is now on.Step 2: Go to the Play Store from your Android Device. Search for "Samsung SmartCam" and install the app. Open the app.Step 3: Create a new account. Enter user ID, password, name and email, then click Register.[The username and password created in Step 3 will be the username and password that you will use to log into your camera every single time from the Samsung SmartCam app]Step 4: Tap "Wireless Setup" (or wired if yours is wired). Follow the on screen directions.Step 5: Select your cameras serial number and click next.Step 6: Select your home wifi network and enter your home wifis password. Wait for the LED light to turn green.Step 7: Create a name and password for your camera. REMEMBER THIS PASSWORD AS THIS IS THE PASSWORD THAT WILL BE USED FOR BLUE IRIS!Step 8: Select your time zoneStep 9: Enable motion and/or audio eventsCONGRATULATIONS! FINISHED!Now after logging into the app, I would click Setup at the top and then scroll down to change the video settings so that the camera defaults to High Resolution when recording. Then, go ahead and click on the Camera tab at the top. Next, I would click on the 3 dots and 3 lines to the right of your camera's name. From this screen at the bottom you have 4 options, Live, Event, Playback, and Setup. I would click Setup and then click General. From this location you can turn on/off Night vision, the display date, and turn on/off the status LED. Save your changes as the bottom and go back to the previous screen.Next, I would click on SD Card. Most definitely have the "Use SD card" option checked. The camera comes with a 16GB Transcend micro SD card. However, I bought this one to upgrade SanDisk Extreme PLUS 64GB microSDXC UHS-I/U3 Card with Adapter (SDSQXSG-064G-GN6MA). I saw on Samsung's web site that you can buy up to a 128GB micro SDXC card. If you decide to check the box for "Continuous Recording" be warned that it is continuous recording 5 minutes at a time. So if you want unlimited continuous recording this is where you are going to need Blue Iris.Officially this camera is not supported by Blue Iris, but I made it work. Here is what you need to do. Open Blue Iris and right click the middle of the screen where the video feed would be. Scroll down to the 4th to last option and click add camera. From here you want to go to the tab labeled "video." For the device type you have 4 options to pick from. Make sure you pick the third one, Network IP. Then, click configure to the right. SEE THE SCREEN SHOT I HAVE POSTED! The screenshot will give you the correct configuration so that Blue Iris can find your camera. At this point you can then change your Blue Iris settings so that the camera records at 30fps, 1080p continuous record, set alerts, record files in mp4 format, make a new video file each hour, and all of other goodies that come with the program.I couldn't find a guide like this on the internet, but after much trial and error I thought that this should be shared with everyone.

Camera ok, but software terrible. Another proof Samsung does not care about their customers.

*by F***I on Reviewed in the United States on June 20, 2016*

Samsung want to just sell their nice looking products, but doesn't care what is their experience after.Camera itself is good for the price. But their software - terrible.Mobile app is outdated. Not very usable. Chunky and not fully functional. Two-way talking does not work for me. And I cannot record custom recording. It records empty file, and I cannot delete it after. When I try to login through Web access, it keeps asking me to install Web viewer plugin, even though I have installed it a few times. It sits not work on every browser.I bought this camera to watch my twins. I still have a few weeks before they come, so looking for better option than this camera. Any suggestions?

    Great Camera!

*by J***L on Reviewed in the United States on April 15, 2016*

I seriously love this camera. It was so easy to set up. I literally had it up and running in with video on my iPhone about 5 minutes. The video quality is good. In these photos, I have the resolution set at "medium." I love that this has a 2-way communication feature. I can talk to my dogs if needed. It confuses the heck out of them, but I can do it! haha. I wasn't looking for a security camera, so saving footage on a cloud or on a recorder wasn't important to me. I just wanted a way to keep an eye on my dogs while I'm not home. One of them is ill and this camera brings me peace of mind. Having 2 way communication and easy set up were the big selling points for me. Oh, and the white stuff in the color photo is a massacred roll of toilet paper.
