Awesome lens
I purchased an international version without USA warranty, but I was not worried. I am a traveler in USA and will go back to India very soon. The seller TR INC was really wonderful. I got one brand new and box-packed item at 50% less. It was enlisted as "Used-Like New" -- but in response to my query the seller informed me that it is actually new and unused. I promptly purchased the item and got within 4 days. The lens is made in Malaysia, same as the other lenses with warranty in USA. The lens is really awesome. It just came to my hand so could not take photos. I took only one photo as a test case whether the lens is flawless. Yes, it is. I am happy with the purchase. Actually I use Canon 18-55mm and 18-200mm lenses. The 18-200mm is a versatile and surprising lens. But I intended to buy 55-250mm for its light weight. The lens is sharp. I certainly happy to buy this.

Canon EFS 55-250mm lens
After researching my need for a zoom lens, I found this one on Amazon.com. The local retailers were much higher in price, and I received the lens within 2 days...just in time for my vacation on river trip down (or up) the St. Johns river from its beginning to the end at Jacksonville . It did exactly what I needed for wildlife and nature pictures, and coupled with one of the best cameras ever, the pictures were amazing. The focus was so easy and quick, the photos were sharper than I would imagine. I would definitely recommend this lens for a moderately priced lens for any amateur, or professional photographer's camera bag.

Great Lens
I bought this lens to take to Africa because I knew I would need to take longer distance shots than the 18-55 Lens that came with the camera can offer. I got a lot of great shots and am very pleased with the performance. Like a lot of reviews on here I found it difficult at times to get used to the auto focus, it is kind of slow. I missed a few shots of things going by quickly, but I knew it would take this larger lens longer to focus. I am very please with the quality of the lens, the photos I took, and the ease of use of this lens for someone with no photography experience. I highly recommend it as your next step up to get long distance shots.

Perfect for kids sports
I have the Canon Rebel T1i and the standard Canon EFS 18-55mm has been the only lens I've used to capture thousands of beautiful photos of my kids as they grow. But when my toddler started sports I found that side-line photos were just not close enough! I would have to be on the field to get the kind of action shots i wanted. So i started pricing zoom lenses. Ouch, there are some really expensive ones out there. I am so happy I bought this Canon EFS 55-250mm. The price is fantastic (I bought a refurbished one for $179 from Gadgetcow- looks, feels and acts brand new!) This 55-250mm lens picks up where my 18-55mm lens left off. I love, love, love it!! Highly recommended for kids sports!

Nice lens!
Just got my new lens. Already been playing with it. Nice! I chose this one because it is a Canon lens and is an EFS (stabilization). Seems to work fine! I also went with Canon over some third party brands. I could have paid a few dollars less, but I figure I should get a quality lens from Canon. Doesn't seem to add much weight to the camera and I can hold it pretty steady with no problems. The AF worked fine until I got inside and tried to zoom up on my dog. It didn't want to lock in; the 28-55mm kit lens that came with my T2i doesn't do that. I am sure it was because I was over 10 feet away from Buster in not real good light. I just flipped it to MF and he was in focus, so I snapped the shot. Came out just fine. No problems purchasing through Amazon. It arrived two days early! This same lens was about $30 more direct from Canon, so I think I got a decent deal. I am planning to give this lens a workout on an upcoming trip to San Diego. I am confident it will help me get some awesome shots.

Great introductory zoom lens
Great intro lens for telephoto shots. The image stabilization does seem to lag the auto focus feature a little bit as others have posted. The fix for this, don't expect this lens to keep up with sporting events. Spend more money and get a lens (and perhaps a camera) suited for the purpose. Anyway, great range, zoomed all the way in: objects 150-200 feet can be the focus of the photography with the ability to remove the backdrop; great portrait photography in the 50-75 feet range; 4-5 ft from objects yields incredible up close shots, great for flowers and insects. If you don't have a high powered flash, know that what you are photographing needs to be adequately lit. The flash on the camera is not adequate to light the subject for this lens at the ~100-250 mm zoom ranges. Hope this review is helpful.

Good value
Don't expect the quality of the L family, but this is a very good lens. Stabilizer works like a charm. AF is a bit slow, mainly when going from one end to the other. I used this to replace my EF 75-300 f/4-5.6 III and think it provides better image quality. I don't miss the extra 50mm

Came fast and was exactly what I ordered
I started my DSLR experience with a Canon Rebel T2i I bought as an open box item locally. I have been using it a lot but found I was not getting close enough to the action. I did not want a massive heavy telephoto lens so decided the price was right on this one and it would be a great test. It has worked out perfectly so far. I have been able to get some quality shots at the zoo and other places. I really wish I had it on the trip I took last year. I waited longer than I should have to order this item. For this price just pick it up. Auto focus does take a bit longer than I wish it would. I need to figure out the manual side to avoid this issue. Easy to swap lens on the camera and I have been happy with the camera. Initially I was unsure if this would work with the T2i as they don't always list every body it works with but I took a chance.

Ottimo obiettivo: economico, leggero e performante. IS rumoroso
