Star Wars the Force Awakens Rey's Survival Guide (Journey to Star Wars: The Force Awakens)

Fun book packed with interesting images and narrative.
This is a very tactile book, with fold out pages and artefacts to open and look at. There are plenty of interesting sketches, drawings of characters, and schematics of ships. The book is written in Rey's perspective, in "handwriting font" so it feels more like a journal. She talks about Jakku, the people who live there and the places where they live. She advises readers of dangers they may face and things to look out for. The colours of drawings range from green to red to mixed colours and look hand-drawn, again adding to the authentic journal look. The final part of the book includes updated experiences based on "The Force Awakens" film, including meeting Finn, BB-8, Han and Chewbacca. I think fans would be delighted by this item. It looks to be aimed at young people, but I've looked all over the book and there's no age limit on it. No offensive language or images either. I'm an adult fan and I love this, it's a wonderful read for Star Wars fans.

A look at life on the world of Jakku
A good short read, written in the style of a journal including 'sketches' and schematics, about life on Jakku.I liked the viewpoint of the book, Rey explaining how to survive the daily grind of scavenging, the people and the locations of Jakku, where we first see her in 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens'.If you've read the short story' Before The Awakening', there's a quick mention about what happened in her short story, although she doesn't like to talk about it! I like that, the way everything is sort of interlinked with things, expanding the character and adding a bit of a back story - typical in the Star Wars Expanded Universe. The 'Survival Guide' also goes over when we meet Rey in the film as 'she' writes down her thoughts on meeting BB-8, Finn, Han Solo and Chewbacca, right up until they arrive on Takodana to meet Maz.If you loved the film and want to know a bit more about Rey and her life in Jakku, I'd recommend getting this fun book.
