Plenty of tips and pointers along the way
Dummies books are as familiar as a favourite old coat and this is a typically well organised, clearly and concise presentation of a thousand GMAT questions. Nothing left uncovered here, loads to get stuck into, plenty of tips and pointers along the way, with good, detailed explanations.

Useful confidence builder.
Turned up to do this exam some years ago. Totally gobsmacked to discover that people actually studied for it. It's a glorified IQ test. But, if it makes you feel more confident, this would be one of the better books to give you a bit of practice before going into the exam. The For Dummies people always put together approachable and comprehensive books - and this one is no exception. It gives a good range of questions from across the different categories and gives explanatory answers in the back. So it will give you a good idea of the type of questions they ask and the sort of reasoning behind the answers, if the logic does not initially make sense to you.

Varied and helpful questions and answers to help on the test
The book is set out in two parts to help students of the GMAT to better prepare and pass the exam. It's divided into two parts. The first part is split into 7 chapters that deal with the 4 main sections of the GMAT:- Analytical Writing Assessment where a statement is made and the student has to write a short essay that either agrees or disagrees with the statement pointing out any flaws along the way in an analytical critique.- Integrated Reasoning where the student shows their math and analytical skills to respond to data-based scenarios.- Quantitative questions testing the student's understanding of statistics, probability arithmetics etc- Verbal section which tests the student's reading, comprehension, logical reasoning and critical thinking. The second part provides suggestions for top scoring answers. The questions are varied and the book is well structured and easy to use whether you want to walk through all questions or want to focus on on specific part. All questions are numbered and it makes it easy to quickly check the back to see if you answered correctly. There is an accompanying website featuring all the same practice questions and the password to the website is on the inside of the front cover (scratch and reveal style like many software products). The website is as well laid out and likely even easier to use if you prefer using the computer (as in the real test)This will be a great helper for the test and as per usual the For Dummies... books are reasonably priced and useful.Recommended

Excellent study aid
This is an excellent learning aid for anyone considering, or signed up for, the GMAT exams. It contains a wide range of questions across each of the GMAT subject areas and the follow up suggested answers are thorough and detail the reasons why some answers are likely to gain higher marks than others. The paper quality isn't great but the text is clear.

Lots of questions
I’m just looking into this exam, so I have no firm experience of the process. It’s a book with plenty of questions. I do note that they have a cultural American slant...asking you to total up pennies and dimes, and so it would be useful to know if there is a UK version of the exam, or if you have to learn transatlantic idioms.

Invaluable resource for anyone taking the GMAT test
You can never have too much practice and this book gives you plenty of examples to go at. There are solutions and tips on answering all of the questions covering all of the different sections of the GMAT test. Students struggle most with verbal reasoning and mathematical reasoning and this is where practice questions are invaluable. These skills can be learnt but only through experience and not just by reading a textbook
