Some of these are occasional and do not warrant permanent wiring. This adapter allows me to simply plug in whatever I may want to use like a heated suit for cold weather. Other times I may want a cellphone charger or a fan or music item plugged in. Sometimes I use it with a light. This permits two plug-ins to be used simultaneously. The current/power rating is sufficient for everything that I may plug in at the same time so overload is not an issue. The plugs each come with an attached cap to seal off when not in use. Wet weather will not impact use as the caps seal when not in use and the polarized plugs likewise seal when in use.
