Optane HBRPEKNX0202A01 Internal Solid State Drive M.2 512 GB PCI Express 3.0 3D XPoint + QLC 3D NAND NVMe

It's really two SSDs in one, a 32GB Optane and 512GB NAND, each getting 2 PCIe 4 lanes. Peak sequential capacity is limited, especially on PCIe 3 systems, compared to x4 SSDs, but the Optane caching rocks for small I/O and real-world workloads (unlike typical SSD benchmarks focused on unrealistic sequential writes with 32 operations queued). Be very careful to check the chipset/mobo is Intel and specifically claims support for Optane memory.

I bought two of these to use in my NUC , and one of them has died after only 7months of use. Very disappointing, I am now concerned that the other is not far behind.

I would be nice if these people would include the Voltage and the Amperage of the computer components they are selling. I can't even use this on my HP laptop. The intel Optane I have in it is 3.3v and only 1.2A. This one has a 3.3v but it's 2.5A. So, now I'm stuck with it because that information wasn't disclosure in the description.

Man darf von dieser Optane-Lösung nicht die gleiche Performance wie von Serverlösungen, wo der nicht flüchtige Speicher direkt im Slot für RAM plaziert wird, erwarten. Aber unter Linux bietet sich der etwas schnellere kleine Teil für Swap (und damit auch für Suspend-To-Disk) an, und damit fahre ich seit mehreren Monaten sehr gut.

Installed this in an Acer Spin laptop, which has Optane BIOS support. The ssd part has great performance, but haven't yet managed to enable the 32GB buffer on the hard disk.

Leider ist das Modul nur mit guten IT-Kenntnissen sicher anzuwenden. Man sollte vorher unbedingt die technischen Voraussetzungen des Systems überprüfen. Die Einstellungen im UEFI-BIOS und die Konfiguration ist nichts für Laien. Letztendlich musste ich mehrere Dokumentationen und Testberichte, teilweise auf Englisch studieren. Am einfachsten lässt sich das Modul einzeln auf dem Motherboard anwenden. Werden mehrere Module auf einer ASUS Hypercard M.2 X16 verwendet ist unter Umständen die Intel Hotline notwendig. Auch das Zusammenspiel mit SSDs sollte sehr gut vorher recherchiert und geplant werden. Wenn es dann läuft bringt das Modul eine spürbar bessere Performance. Die Module sind nicht RAID-fähig! Auch Dualboot mit dynamischen Laufwerken haben ihre Tücken.
