Very good urushi.
This is very good Japanese urushi. Iโve used it for both kintsugi and Fuki-e lacquer technique. It worked very well in both applications. Low cost and high quality. Whatโs not to love. I just wish this seller offered a greater selection of kintsugi materials and tools.

Urushi excellence
I could not be more pleased with this product. Finding un-tinted urushi is challenging. A great price, product, and very fast shipping. Looking forward to doing more business with this vendor.

Know your medium.
If you know what it is and the risks involved, it is amazing. Waterproof, mold resistant and food safe for woods, metals ect. Practice required for Kintsugi. That said, do know that this stuff contains urushiol and will cause contact dermatitis like you've never known if you don't respect your medium.

Didn't work like it was suppose to!
I used this to bind my ceramic plate together because it broke and the lacquer didn't even work on it! I waited the full amount of time for it to cure and nothing! Plus on top of it I tried to return this item and they didn't even give me my money back.

Wear protective gear!
I've done Kintsugi ceramics repair for a while. I've used other urushiol lacquer. However, this raw lacquer is a bit more potent! Truly, be careful! This stuff is for real!

A very thin layer will oxidized amazingly.
Using very thin layers you get amazing quality and results.

Been working with urushi for a while
And first things first, item description says that the lacquer causes allergies so smh y'all better read. Second, you mix that up with tonoko paste. Take the powder, mix it with enough water to make a paste, then add in the urushi to mix. You get what's called Sabi urushi out of that and it's pretty strong after it's cured. Granted, not as strong as epoxy and other modern adhesives but let's face it, you're doing kintsugi as an art. If you want to keep using whatever broken plate or porcelain you fixed up, keep it out of the sun, don't put it in the dishwasher, and don't microwave it. Again, DO NOT PUT THE FIXED ITEMS IN THE DISHWASHER, DO NOT PUT IT IN THE MICROWAVE, AND keep it out of the sun lol Third? Make sure you got a container or something to put it in where you can adjust humidity and temperature to cure. Humidity should should be around 70-80% while Temps should be around 68-80. This would be the furo for urushi to cure inside of. Leave it in there for a couple days and your urushi lacquer should be done. Sand as you please whether it's kintsugi or not. OH and another thing, wear long sleeves and pants, wear disposable nitrile gloves, and you might a well wear a mask before even starting to work with urushi. Look up how to properly remove disposable gloves and you should be able to avoid most rashes. Smh, people.

Seshime pure urushi used on violins
I have been using this urushi to harden the fingerboards of violins as I described it in the March issue of The Strad Magazine. The product has a good quality; it dries well to a hard film, the same as it did last year.
