This review will have spoilers from the first book.Having your family believe that your "Rental Girlfriend" is a real girlfriend is difficult. Kazuya and Chizuru have an arrangement to pretend to be a couple for Kazuya's grandmother who totally ships the two of them. An encounter with Kazuya's ex-gf has him babbling like a typical male. While he sounds desperate, you do need to remember he's still suffering deep down from his depression and also when she broke up with him in the first place.What happens in Volume 2? We see Kazuya and Chizuru attempt to navigate the complicated situation of pretending for their families and also trying to avoid his friends. The last time she appeared to Kazuya's friends as his girlfriend was risky so perhaps it's best to come clean and say the relationship is done for, right?WRONG. Ha ha. I believe volume 2 covers Episode 3 and 4 of the anime. For those of you watching the show instead of reading the manga. Here, the cast go to the beach! And through bizarre circumstances, Chizuru is there as well and it puts her on the spot again as Kazuya's girlfriend. Once again, Kazuya begins to have indecisive thoughts about choosing his Ex-GF Mami or his rental GF Chizuru. A bit of drama here and there but it is surprisingly entertaining.It ends on a rather surprising and terrifying cliffhanger too. So definitely stay tuned.
