MY MOM ENJOYED A BUBBLE BATH AGAIN FOR MOTHER'S DAY !!!
THE UNIT IS AMAZINGLY SIMPLE TO USE AND SAFELY STURDY. !!! My Mom used to prefer actual bathing and enjoyed many a bubble bath in her time. She is currently over 80 and has had some 'older' complications that made it necessary for her to 'make do' clean-ups sitting on a transfer bench with a handheld shower head. WE looked at walkin tubs, but the expense, demolition, installation, permanent change to the only main bathroom of the house just didn't make sense for the future resale or overnight others who may stay here. I don't remember what prompted me to see if lifts like they use in some senior-living settings were available for regular home ue - BUT I'M SURE GLAD I DID AND AMAZON HAS SUCH A VARIETY, PRICED WAY BELOW THE WALKIN TUBS !! THIS ONE WE CHOSE TO TRY WAS ON THE LOWER-PRICED SIDE, BUT AFFORDABLE BECAUSE OF THE NO-INTEREST MONTHLY PAYMENT OPTION. ( My Mother only has retirement income and i have had to reduce my employment to one-day-a-week to provide the caregiving that she needs. ) It is a bit heavier than i hoped but much less than i expected. We will not have to move it often, and can probably get a stronger arm to come over if needed. I DID GET IT IN THE TUB BY MYSELF, WITH NO HELP , AND WITHOUT BANGING IT AROUND, so I SHOULD BE ABLE TO GET IT OUT BY MYSELF IF/WHEN NECESSARY, but if someone else less than 65 is around, it would probably be A LOT EASIER FOR THEM TO DO ME A FAVOR BEFORE THEY GO........ : )

Excellent lift for an adult who ends up on the floor.
Primarily purchased this BathLyft for getting my 200 pound senior citizen husband up from the floor. I viewed it on YouTube and a chiropractor was demonstrating it. It is very easy as long as the person can sit and scoot onto the BathLyft while he/she is on the floor. Then you simply push the raise button and it gets him/her to a higher position where they can use a walker or assistant to stand up. I recommend opening the box and charging the battery ( the hand controller). I did not need the chair, for my spouse, until a month after he got out of the hospital from surgery, and had just left it in a spare room, unopened in the box. Lo and behold, one afternoon he slipped right out of his recliner onto the carpeted floor. I heard a “thud” and there he was, sitting on the carpet. In the past, I have struggled getting him up. I am only a 100 pound weakling. 😳. I managed to get the controller partially quick charged within 5 minutes of plugging it into my HALO Bolt Wireless Laptop Power Bank (a great investment as well, and mine is over 5 years old, available on Amazon). I am charging the hand controller by wall socket now. My husband is happy and back in his comfortable Lazy Boy Lift Recliner.Earlier, I had taken more time with installing the backrest hooks into the base. I thought they simply latched on; however I needed to use a little force, with the palm of my hand, and snap down one hook at a time.Oh yes…this BathLyft has already saved me, so far, an out of pocket expense for a one time trip from EMT at $150.I highly recommend this BathLyft! Thank you very much to the inventor and the manufacturer! I am very happy as well! 😉

Life Changing
I badly injured a knee and could not figure out any way to get out of a bathtub independently without putting stress on it. I crave my hot baths on cold nights! My only complaint is that it doesn’t sit me as low into the water as I would like. But this is probably more an issue with my small bathtub than the bath chair. If you have a bigger tub, this probably won’t be an issue. It does get me in there and allow me to actually soak in a bath, which is what matters. I’m short, so this practically raises me to standing. The seat is surprisingly comfortable and the reclining back is really nice. One thing I really wish I would have been aware of is that this company sends the seat out fully assembled and with a full charge on it. I was beginning to think I had a used seat when I realize that it was fully charged and someone had already attached the seat back. I was also confused at first because the instructions indicated that I needed to do some assembly and I couldn’t figure out how the heck I was supposed to be doing it—because it was already done. This was ready to use right out of the box. But speaking of the box, be aware that the packaging is unbelievably heavy. When I first pulled it in the house, I was worried about exactly how heavy this thing was. Turns out most of it was the heavy duty packaging. Once you get the seat out of all of that stuff, it’s not that bad to handle.

Do not order!
If you have to return they do not cover return cost. I paid 125.00 to return an item that cost approx 450.00.This is a nice try and seems to be sturdy however, it does not lower the body far enough in the tub. It could be better if the back reclined more. My 5’2” body barely got waist deep. It seems as though if it could recline further that it would be better but, the device does not allow for the body to get far enough in the tub to soak.

other uses getting up from the floor
I am diabetic and when my sugar falls too low I wake up on the floor and being old and fat I can't get up. Even though I asked the question I didn't get an answer right away so I bought it anyway and keep it by my bed I have used it 6 or 7 times in the 8 weeks I have had it and it works great. My uncle had a similar model from the VA and he suggested I get one. I live alone and calling for help is a lot harder to do as the guy I call works all day and sleeps soundly at night, I prefer to be independent and this helps. Only thing I didn't like is my fault as it does fold flat but I have a hard time getting it lined up correctly to work when my brain is too fuzzy from low sugar so I leave the back up and just slide the seat under the bed
