Very strong magnet and well made!
The magnet is very strong! This will work well for taking any possible metal particles out of the engine oil. It appears to be well made out of stainless steel.

Fits a 2004 TJ Wrangler Regardless of What Amazon Says...
Fit and works on a 2004 TJ Wrangler Rubicon, i6 4.0L. Fits regardless of what Amazon's fitment chart says. I checked at the GoldPlug website and installed it. No problems. Actually works to take out fine bits of metal in your oil pan. Wonderful plug without any leaks.

A bit pricey for what it is, but it does live up to it's claims.
A bit overpriced for what it is, but the magnet is as strong as they claim and it does not oxidize at all. My use was for a Wrangler straight 6 oil pan. The stock plug on these Jeeps is non magnetic and tends to rust over time (at least mine did). This type uses a soft aluminum washer that is semi permanently attached to the plug, instead of the silicone rubber coated washer attached to the factory plug. This was a concern at first but the soft aluminum did seal just as well as the silicone... although you may have an issue if there are any gouges or deep scratches on your pan in the vicinity of the plug. My pan was in decent shape in that area so the washer sealed properly (without having to overtighten... torgue was about the same as the stock plug). If you have sealing problems you could try a silicone type washer, although you'd probably be better off trying another plug that comes with one. After 2 oil changes, It has indeed captured a small amount of particles, however I use a filter mag as well so it catches the majority of any ferrous particles. Tool fit is also quite good and I've had no problems attaching sockets or combination wrenches to the head. Although they work in an emergency, try not to use adjustable wrenches as they tend to round off your fastener, especially after several oil changes.

Very High Quality
If you want a ridiculously overbuilt drain plug for your vehicle, look no further. These are very well made.

WOW!!! Super Magnet!!!
The magnet on this thing is AMAZING! If this plug doesn't catch the metal it's not there. I looked at all the cheaper brands and went with the Gold Plug. It's a little more expensive but it's a one time investment in your engine and cheaper is seldom better.

Gold plug
Right diameter plug bolt, but it's the wrong thread count for the oil pan on a Willys jeep CJ 3 B F-134 engine

Fit and finish was good, not a long term review though.
It fit the application well (89 Ford F150, 5.0L) and did not leak. I sold the vehicle, so I'm unable to provide details beyond that. That being said, I think I'll try one in my new truck and will update the review after a few oil changes.
