Quality item. Arrived well packaged.

This mahjong set is very nice, it is my first set I have ever purchased and am quite pleased with it. The tiles were wrapped in 4 "blocks" so they wouldn't shuffle around in shipping. The shipping was good as well. The seller shipped it box in box and the inner box that housed the mahjong set was "encased" with a foam like board material so it did not move at all during shipping. The outer box had some shipping paper to hold the inner box in place. The outer box is a nice thing to do and I appreciate this seller doing that to ensure the safety of my product. The tiles are very nice, uniform, vibrant colored. The characters on the tile are indented into the tile itself so the character will never "rub off", this set does not include any numbers or letters (N, E, S, W) but we all got the hang of it after just playing it once. If you really need the numbers and letters don't let that stop you from buying this set. I was going to buy some little dot stickers to use if I needed to remember but I won't anymore. I don't know what size this would be considered but they stand up on their own just fine and seem to be about the right size for playing on a normal sized coffee table. The dimensions are listed on the item description but I figured I would tell you this anyway. While the tile set is very nice and I am quite happy with them, I will say that the case is a little on the flimsy side, for only spending ~$25 I am not too bothered by this. I think it is pretty much hard cardboard wrapped in thin vinyl. With normal use I expect it to be needing replaced after a few years, sooner if you have rough hands. All in all I am very pleased to have this as my first set and I plan to include pictures. I purchased this to replace a "travel" Mahjong set we have at work. The tiles are heavy, thick, easy to handle and quite beautiful. The only thing that kept me from giving it 5 stars is that the numbers tiles only have the Chinese number characters and lack the Arabic numerals that some sets have. Although, I suppose in the long run, this could be considered a good thing as it caused us to learn those Chinese number characters. Also, there are no tile racks included in this set, though the thickness of the tiles means they stand up just fine, you just don't have a rack to use as a pusher. Overall, the lower price on this set makes up for these minor short-comings. This set is well worth the price.

Love the set!

This set of tiles had my favorite color blue. The tiles are also bigger from this company who made them. This is the original size mahjong tile I believe. The case is leather which is nice but I fragile as well on durability. Other than that I can't wait to play this games with my family and friends.

I don't know how to play traditional Mahjong, I bought this set specifically for Mahjong Solitaire. It's a wonderful, meditative way to unplug from screens. There’s something incredibly satisfying about the 'clack' of the tiles and the focus required to clear a physical pyramid layout.
