Wanted to try this gauge for drop tuning
I wanted to see how well the tension held with this gauge for a D Standard tuning. So far with a tweak to intonation and making sure the setup was as I like, it's been just fine without issues. It's not too flubby or anything like that, but you have to remember drop tunings are / can be looser by nature as the reason it's lower is because there is indeed less tension. lol Great set of strings, I used to run Ernie Ball back in the 90's and early 2000's, but switched to GHS mid 2000's, but these could bring me back as they have been great so far!

Ernie Ball Mondo Slinky strings are a Cream of the Crop!
I have been using Ernie Ball strings for over 25 years, since I began playing guitar at 13 years old. And only recently did I just find out about how many different types of strings that E.B. actually has! I had grown accustomed to the Skinny Top Heavy Bottom ones for years, but I recently ordered these Mondo Slinkys, and they are Badass! A deeper, more heavy bottom end sound, and a more full and broad middle and high end on the smaller strings. Thank you Ernie Ball, I look fwd to trying more types soon!

Drop C into Drop B
This is basically Light Top Heavy Bottom, but with half an extra inch of thickness with the high end as low as Drop B. Anything lower would fall flat.

A little bass heavy but good on top
I like the half sizes on the treble side, but the bass is a bit heavy. Good strings.

Great strings
Recently switched from D’Addario jazz 12’s to Mondo and Massive Slinky’s- sound just as good as D’Addarios but less expensive. I also really like the custom gauge options Ernie Ball offers.

Great for heavier styles
Amazing for heavy styles of play or drop tunings. Not sure if a beginner would do well with these so I’d recommend less heavy strings for newer players to learn bends and such. However, for other players I’d highly recommend these if you want to try heavier strings out.

EB 0.10.5
Sempre usei as tradicionais 0.11.
