Stainless steel...the facts...trays are fine btw
So wanted to write this review because there is so much miss information about stainless steel and the details on it. So read this if you want to be educated. First let me say the trays are fine and will serve their purpose of being...well trays. What is stainless steel? It takes 3 things to make stainless steel, iron(yes iron is in every stainless steel and in high quantity as well, so stop saying "this one has iron so it will rust"), carbon, and chromium(what actually make the steel "stainless" or rust resistant). EVERY SINGLE ONE has all 3 of these. What do you mean every single one? Yes, there is multiple types of stainless steel well over a hundred. Now commercially you're only going to see 15ish types and you'll see most of them here on amazon. Some products are nice enough to list what kind they are using but a lot don't share that info because most people wouldn't know the difference. What makes these different stainless steel types different? It can vary, usually additives or production methods are what separate the various types. So what? All stainless steel will have the same properties right? NO! I could go on a huge list but I will just state the one that I see people get wrong a lot. Just because its stainless steel doesn't mean a magnetic will stick to it, depending on the type of stainless steel a magnet may stick to it, may slightly stick to it, or may not stick to it what so ever. Well a true stainless steel will not rust! If well taken care of, sure. But any stainless steel can rust, they are all made of iron after all. Ill keep it brief but the chromium(what makes carbon steel into stainless steel) forms a thin invisible oxide layer on the surface of your stainless steel that protects the underlying iron, this is what stops it from reacting with moisture and oxygen. It works well and even if you scratch it it will self heal under the presence of oxygen. This is great....but not impervious, things like cutting it deep enough or leaving it in salt water will cause it to rust no problem. Ill get off the soap box now but feel free to verify any of this using google. Pretty easy to find info. Happy shopping!

very useful for restoration aficionados
good basic kit; quality stainless stees (non-magnetic is a good indicator), light weight and perfect for multiple tasks; I need shallow, durable and chemically resilient trays for restoration of all types of mechanical things and these are perfect; will likely buy more

Great quality for the price
These are great quality. Not used for surgical purposes but instead for trays under large coffee carafe spouts. They help to keep the mess to a minimum.
