affordable,good looking,sturdy black tv stand
I have ikea furniture so i was looking for something to match my black furniture design and this was perfect! It's really hard to find solid black tv stands that are ACTUALLY solid black and not expresso so this was a dream come true. I'm not gonna lie the package is really heavy, so if you're like me and tiny you might need some assistance carrying it lol. This tv stand is sturdy too. The instructions are really easy to understand and it doesn't take long to get it all set up, took me about a hour and a half. I did have to drill two small holes for my speaker cords for the two areas with no open backs on the left and right, but its not that noticeable.I really like that they give you a touch up marker so if you scratch it you can cover it up. I didnt have to deal with customer service but i like that they give you plenty of information if you need it, and from what i read on reviews before i got this they are helpful. Also,I have a 45" tv and it fits great ,but i think a 50" would fit nice too. Last thing be sure about the measurements of the tv stand because it is on the smaller side than what i had before. The finished product is just like the picture!

Best bang for your buck
This TV stand is excellent for the price. This is a ready-to-assemble piece of furniture, so that should set your expectations: it's pressed particle board with a fairly easy-to-scratch surface. But this is true of all ready-to-assemble furniture. That's what you're paying for. But for what it is, it's really a great piece of furniture. Assembly does take some time, but the instructions are excellent and all the parts fit together very snuggly. It's a very solid tv stand and looks way more expensive than it is. Color is very nice. Cabinet doors are adjustable and surprisingly well-made and feel solid opening and closing. The center shelf between the doors is adjustable up and down. Additionally, this looks great against a flat wall as well as in a corner. Very versatile.

I can't believe this was under $200!
I bought this stand after trying to move my original stand on the carpet with my heavy plasma t.v. still on it. Needless to say the stand collapsed (my fault, I know). Anyways, I searched high and low for a stand that was inexpensive and matched the rest of my living room furniture. This stand exceeded my expectations. The color was a little darker then anticipated (I suppose the color espresso has changed over the past five years), and it took a while to put together (roughly 4 hours with numerous breaks). It was simple enough, however I wasn't paying close attention to the instructions and when I put all of the shelves together, the "raw" sides were showing. But it was easy to take apart and put together until I got it right. The hinges on the door didn't fit right, so I just took the hinges apart and attached them to the doors piece by piece. Once I finally finished, it looked beautiful. It's very sturdy and has a modern look to it (which was hard to find in the stores). It's not real wood and if you're not careful, the veneer can peel off around the drill holes while putting it together. You cannot ask for a better stand for the price!

Awesome TV stand.
Well it's very sturdy. It's uses the same bolt locking thing that almost all box furniture uses now a days so it was very easy to put it together. Took me about 2 hours by myself and I'm not that much of a handyman. Instructions were easy to decipher from the pictures though the writing wasn't detailed at all. Not a problem for me as I'm more visual anyway. It fits my 42" TV great and the color matches my decor well. Plenty of shelving space, currently holding a PS3, cable modem, router and cable box in the top 2 center shelves. Still plenty of room for other stuff. Overall I love it and considering I only paid $140~ for it, it's an amazing deal. Even it's list price is worth it, though I love the deal I got on it. It doesn't feel cheap like most box furniture, once its assembled you would never be able to tell.

Looks Great - hard to build - holes too small on doors
Definitely needs 2 people to assemble. The flat pieces are pretty heavy and trying to line up the holes with the pegs would be almost impossible by yourself. I was hoping that there would be access holes in the cubbies with the doors over them, would be a perfect spot to put the WII, but unfortunately there wasn't. The only access is the opening in the back down the center shelves.I gave the item 3 stars because the holes on the doors were too small to get the hinges inserted into correctly so my doors aren't lined up exactly right but i guess that's what you get with self-assembled furniture. It does look very nice and is very sturdy other than that. I would recommend this product. Great price and quick shipping. Box was packed very well.

Great Corner TV Stand - Great Company
I'm a big fan of South Shore products and there are several in my home. After a recent move I needed a corner TV stand and was pleased to see they offered this option. It's a perfect fit for my 48" TV and a perfect fit for the space. Looks very nice too.I had a minor issue with adjusting the two cabinet doors, which I always seem to encounter. It took some trial and error to get the doors to close properly, but things seems fine now. Also I didn't understand why the back boards didn't have holes in them for wires to pass through. I suppose you could drill them, but the material is very thin and I'm not sure how well this would work. If you nail them to the unit, your components on the shelves have no outlet for the power cables or connections. This seems a flaw to me. I just didn't attach the back panels and left the space open. This looks fine and maybe that's what South Shore intended if you use the unit this way? These two issues aside, I'm very pleased with how easily the unit was to assemble and its appearance in my living room. I will buy other South Shore products in the future - and there are several right now on my Amazon Wish List.

Great item and service!
We received the item 2 days before the due date. Very good packaging and easy instructions to put it together. Unfortunately, when we got almost to the end of it, we discovered that the bottom part was cracked. I called the company after 6:30 PM not expecting anybody to answer the call. I was wrong! A young lady (sorry I forgot her name) apologized for the inconvenience and made up an order for the damaged part in less than 5 minutes. We received it by FedEx in a day and a half (wow!) with a sorry note. It is a pure joy to deal with such a caring company. And they are Canadian as well!!!The stand is good quality, looks gorgeous with out 55 inch TV, it fits perfectly in the corner and the price was excellent. What else can I say? Buy it with confidence! You will not be disappointed.PS. Another reviewer, Sandy, female in mid 60s as she described herself, said that she assembled it by herself. Way to go super Sandy!Folks, you need 2 people to do it and avoid mishaps.

Solid, looks great, fits perfectly
This is a great stand, found nothing wrong with it, other than that it's darker than I expected, but it could just be the lighting in my living room. All those people who are complaining about the instructions and set up and how heavy it is are just dumb. I'm a short, 117 lbs woman and I put it together by myself in about an hour and a half. Sure, you need a screwdriver, and a hammer, though not needed, will make your life easier, butI've never seen a piece of furniture come with that stuff, so quit complaining, people. They also give you little rubber stoppers for the doors, a scratch marker, and some extra bits in case you loose anything. The instructions have clear images and they are also written out at the bottom of the page. There's no "trick" to it, you just have to know how to read instructions, they give you everything you need.

Very nice looking stand
Very nice looking tv stand, looks great. Shipped very quickly. Item did arrive slightly damaged with a crack in one piece and a visible dent in the front. Damage is barely noticeable and not worth sending the item back for. Installation was easy enough, done with one person.

Good for the price after 8 months
Followed instructions and assembled as expected. Lots of parts so just have to be patient. Once done, placed in the corner and looks nice. Lots of shelf space for fitting a TV and mini-stereo. We don't have DVDs anymore so that left lots of extra space. In fact, we put decorative objects in the shelves to hide the holes in the back.Materials are not high end but neither was the price. The wood veneer finish and the glass were decent quality. The feet and handles were definitely not high end plastic.

Very happy with this TV stand
Purchased this stand for my 49" inch to sit in the corner of the family room. One piece was damaged during delivery but South Shore quickly sent a replacement part for free and it was easily replaced.I had no problem putting stand together myself (I'm female mid 60's) as directions were easy to follow and the unit was quite sturdy by the time it needed to be flipped upright. The unit is quite solid & sturdy however light enough that I am able to easily shift it if I need to pull out to access tv cables at back.Three months later I'm still very happy with this product.
