Kindle Edition is Very Difficult to Use
ProsThe recipes are easy and tasty, without too much reliance on soy products. I agree with the other positive reviews regarding the recipes themselves.ConsThe Kindle edition is nearly impossible to use. The table of contents only links to the chapters, not to the recipes themselves. Although there is a recipe listing, it does not link to the recipes - and of course the page numbers are no help since the Kindle uses locations instead of page numbers. So, the only way to get to the recipes is to search by the recipe title and then guess on which location points to the actual recipe. If I had known this edition was so poorly executed, I would have purchased the paperback edition instead.

Excellent book for a vegan wannabe
Thank you for this book, Dreena! I've been experimenting with a vegan diet for a few weeks now, and am loving every minute of it.The personal stories in The Everyday Vegan, about becoming a vegan, have helped me understand my own journey. The cooking tips and how to's are easy to follow, and the sections on spices, grains, and nutritional concerns are informative and very supportive for this nervous newbie! And the recipes are so good!If you are considering a vegan diet, The Everyday Vegan is a must for your kitchen!

one of my favorites
I love this cookbook. Since diving into Dreena's books, I have seriously thinned out my cookbook shelves. I don't need cookbooks lining my shelves for just one or two trusted recipes. Dreena's recipes and knowledge base do not disappoint. I make her Sweet Red WIne Vinaigrette weekly. Probably my favorite recipe in the whole book would be her Spicy Thai Stew. Her recipes often include substitution suggestions for when you don't quite have all the ingredients on hand. My kids and I especially love the EVAN-illa pudding and Coconut Raspberry Squares.

Great vegan get started book
I bought this book several years ago at the start of my vegan journey. It has been well loved and served my families taste buds well. Overall I would recommend to anyone starting out. Easy to follow and with east to access ingredients.

Good vegan cookbook
Wish there wasn't so much olive oil in this book (or hemp products), but overall has lots of tasty recipes that you can add to menu rotation.

Cookbook Fave!
I use this book quite often. I find the recipes to be reliable (this is an issue these days) and excellent. As a cane sugare-free vegan, I look for cookie recipes that use fruit or agave nectar as the sweetening source. "Bill's Cookies" are absolutely delicious. But all the recipes I tried are very good and I highly recommend this book to all vegans, just beginning and experienced.

Excess of Soy!
Too many of the recipes call for soy or soybean products. Soy can have a sludging effect on one's body and disrupt the digestive process by weighing one down. Try one of Burton's other books instead, like "Eat Drink, & Be Vegan." ED&BV contains delicious eats without over-utilizing this maligned bean.

Very disappointing, not designed for the 'everyday vegan'
I was very disappointed: this book didn't cover the ground I needed it to as I transitioned into veganism. The nutritional information is very basic, and 'coffee table' in manner, with some glaring inaccuracies that caused me to very unwell, until I was able to pick up some other books on Veganism. The recipes are hardly 'everyday' in form - relatively impractical if you don't live near a health food store. There are much better books here on Amazon on this topic.

Vegan plant based whole foods is the way to go
This is a good book and part of a good series. I use it a lot. WFPB eating is wonderful ... so healthy!
