this cookbook was filled with traditionalswedish recipes and photos of the author andfamily that would have been better left out.

I'd been looking for a book with traditional Swedish recipes for some time. This book has lots of the great recipes I've been looking for. There lots of pictures and the recipes are very easy to read. There's also many different types of recipes. The beginning starts with small dish recipes. These are perfect lunch, snack or hors d'oeuvres. If you like salmon, there's lots of recipes that have salmon.

First, this book is misnamed, as the author admits that it is more "updated" often than traditional. Second, who has elk and reindeer meat in their local supermarket or anywhere except maybe Idaho? There were also many kinds of fish, evidently, and other ingredients I'd never heard. And where do I find gooseberries exactly? Lingonberries okay, I can get those and do. This book has beautiful photography, including a bit of child maybe inappropriate pix, but in one major heading "lingonberries" is misspelled. I distrust a cookbook where the headlines are not carefully edited. What about the recipes then? Many recipes are also complex and contain ingredients unfamiliar and unavailable to many Americans, to say nothing of not really Swedish at all. Not my Swedish grandmother's cooking by any means and I am returning it asap.

This is a beautiful book on traditional Swedish recipes. I have not had a chance to try as many recipes as I have wanted to try. I did a luncheon inMay, 2013 for 24 ladies and talked about Swedish customs and Swedish cuisine. I made 3 main dishes, 1 salad, several desserts and Swedish cheeseand crackers. It was successful and I enjoyed doing this luncheon.

This product arrived on time, packaged well and in condition advertised. This book is a real treasure! I ordered it to augment my knowledge of Swedish food and culture, which I have long admired. I am thrilled! I heartily recommend it to anyone looking for similar information!

this one is ok, recipes are good, to many personal pictures in it. I don't need to see the authors naked children in a cook book. . If I wanted to see a photo album I would of looked at my own.
