Fantastic little camera
Nikon Coolpix S60 10MP Digital Camera with 5x Optical Vibration Reduction (VR) Zoom (Crimson Red)I bought this camera to take to Italy with me and it did a fantastic job . My pictures were clear and it 's ease of operation made me appreciate it even more. It was light and easy to travel with and the touch screen is very responsive yet not overly sensitive that it would do commands without me wanting them. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a great picture and is not familiar with having a digital before.

Not To Shabby
Just came in the mail today, Opened it up and started clicking away! Its a little tricky at first with the different "Scene settings". if you take a picture up close, without the "Portrait" setting on it can become blurry and look like absolute crap! Easily can be fixed though when you place it to "Auto Scene Setting" which detects the atmosphere and automatically adjusts to the picture....Which doesnt always work so great. Cool diffrent features in scene mode , such as fireworks, food and party/indoor. Tested it out on the food, but i had to adjust the settings to the flash to get the picture i really wanted. Its alot of adjusting you have to do before you can take a picture. So if your the type of perosn who just turns it on and clicks away , this probably isint the camera for you. On the contrary, If your a lil Tech savvy and want each picture to demonstrate its best attributes and quality, then this is just what you want. Browsing the menu is very easy and explains almost every feature designated by the "?" symbol, so not much reading of the manuel to get the point of the features. So far the pictures I have taken, are absolutely beautiful and when zoomed in, are CRYSTAL CLEAR.The holidays are coming up so ill be taking plenty pictures and post my reveiw on the diffrent scene settings!

A Good Product!
I don't understand the bad reviews that this camera has gotten. To me it is like my iPhone, intuative and easy to use! Takes great pictures too! My only disapointment is that a premium priced Point & Shoot camera like the S60 Nikon Coolpix S60 10MP Digital Camera with 5x Optical Vibration Reduction (VR) Zoom (Burgundy)should not have been shipped without a SDHD memory card (even if only limited capacity!). Make sure you buy this camera AND a SDHD card at the same time, without the card you will have only 9 or 10 photos before you must delete or download to your computer.

cool camera
I recently bought this camera on amazon. It is a great camera. I was concerned about all the negative reveiws but I had to try it out. It is as good as any other P&S camera out there. The touch screen is very cool if you are into it. if not buy one of the nikons without a touch screen. It takes excellent pictures for a P&S. I think some reveiwers just didn't read the manual on how to use the settings or had expectations of an slr. this is a cool little camera, that fits in your pocket. Buy it.....Major Wheelock, New Hampshire

Nikon Coolpix S60
The idea of this product was very good. That's why I couldn't wait to get one for my wife. Unfortunately, the technology is just not mature at all.First, the touch screen responsiveness is wildly inconsistent. Usually, it responds immediately. However, sometimes, it takes 3 to 5 sec. You would think that you didn't touch correctly and you would try to touch again, and again. Then you would have touched the same thing twice or 3 times. And you would have to undo the 2nd or 3rd touches.Second, the battery won't last 100 shots. If you use flash or touch the screen a lot, it probably is good for 60 or 70 shots. You would need 2 or 3 batteries for your trips if you plan to take a lot of shots.

Third Warranty Repair-Still a paperweight
Purchased camera in Jan 2009. Stops working less than a month later. Nikon repairs camera but sends back a totally different camera that looked like it had be thrown from a moving car. They actually mailed my camera to someone else. It took several months and many follow up calls to get them to send back at least a refurb. That replacement also stopped working a couple of months later. Sent it back for warranty repair. This time it was repaired and returned to me. Still the darn camera doesn't work. The shutter stays shut. It's a terrible camera. I also purchased a less expensive Canon, without a touch screen. The Canon never fails. It's battery life is great. I've abused the Canon and it works every time.Hate is a strong word but, I have hate for Nikons terrible Customer Service and their horrible products.
