Pfaff Nature Pet Premium Carpal Splint/Carpal Joint Bandage for Dogs (Large)

My four legged companion thought she could fly and crashed though a second story window. She ended up damaging the soft tissue in both metacarpal joints in her front legs. I contacted the company to confirm sizing and make sure this product would do what I wanted. They were very quick to respond and exceedingly helpful. So I bought two of these to help provide support while she heals. They are very well made and fit wonderfully. They are quick and easy to take on and off. And they provide a good amount of support without completely immobilizing the joint. At this point my dog will wait until I have put them on before she walks around.I would not however leave a dog unattended with these on. At one point my dog decided she wanted the brace off and started chewing on it. While I quickly stopped her, she had started to tear one of the straps. I imagine she could quickly chew threw it considering how quickly she started to tear the strap.A large fits my 80 pound pitbull/german shepherd and it's well worth the 2 week wait as the product ships from Germany.

The brace is very good- I originally bought the medium, but it was just a little big for my border collie's skinny legs. The small is a much better fit. However I'm only giving it 4 stars because it took a full month to arrive form Germany!

The product seems very sturdy. The sewing is all straight and the seams seem well bound. I hate ordering items and finding that the sewing is crooked, runs off the side, or has hanging threads everywhere. This was neat, straight and tidy. The metal stays are slightly malleable, and slide into the cleverly disguised (hard to see) pockets sewn from a tough woven material, nylon of some sort I think. My dog seems comfortable in it. She acted like her foot was gone for a few minutes, and then upon waving a cookie in her face, she totally forgot the brace existed and went right with life as if her foot had spontaneously reappeared. There is magic in every dog cookie apparently.I also wanted to note that this company has EXCELLENT, above all expectations, customer service. There was a slight problem with my order (the sizing didn't work out, despite falling in to the measurements for a medium, that was too tight.) and they were immediately on it and helping me get the right size, no problem at all. This company is in Germany, and the shipping was still fairly expedient for such a long trip. (To the US)For reference, my dog is a 60ish pound adult purebred Golden Retriever. She wears the large comfortably. I was NOT compensated for my review, this was a genuine purchase for a dog with a carpal hyper extension injury.

Looks like it would work, but my dog died before it arrived, so did not use it.

Although it might be a good brace for just a little support, the brace seemed to slip easily and did not provide anything but minimal support. Had to find another brace on another site. Brace is of decent quality though, and seller provided product requested and in a timely manner.

Very nice quality, better than expected, worth the cost. Be warned though, it did take two weeks to arrive because it is coming from Germany. I have tried a few different carpal braces and splints for my dog and this is by far the best, in terms of quality, ease of use, support (medium), and comfort for my dog. I like that there are different options in the form of flexible rods, firm rods or not using rods and two different kinds of mid outer brace wraps to self-determine the level of support you want at any given time. I highly recommend!

Falls apart fast

Just got it and used it yesterday. Even though it took a very long time (post office misplaced it and had to wait an extra week) to receive, I think it will help with my dog's injured leg. The injury is serious and he needs stability and I think this will provide it. The design is different than other wraps I purchased and has a double splint system. I recommend it over the plain soft wraps which really have not done much to help the dog's recovery.And I used the hard molded splints which are a royal pain because they don't fit the dog's leg correctly and you have to make adjustments to them to work and wrap the dog's leg so the dog will not get rub sores. This is worth a try if your dog has an injured carpal ankle injury.

Sans doute un probleme isolé car l attelle semble de bonne qualité. Contact et retour immediat il m a renvoyé une attelle. Je conseille le produit et le vendeur.

Firstly my dog (siberian husky) needed this item as she has severely damaged her tendons and ligaments in her wrist and also has a hairline fracture within the joint so has to keep her carpal joint immobilised. (there's currently a possibility that she needs her joint fused).She was having her whole leg splinted via the vet, but the vets splints caused pressure sores and very inflamed skin which made my dog uncomfortable so she kept chewing the dressings off.I took it on myself to buy this product for my dog, and told the vet afterwards, it only took 4 day's to get here, it even came with an English translation.Both myself and my vet is very happy with this product, to the point that my vet possibly wants to invest in some.The carpal brace is doing its job well as it's stopping my dogs wrist from moving sideways and her sore skin has mostly healed due to the bandage part being breathable. The only issue I currently have is that my dog has chewed the top of the bandage part to try to get to the pressure sores she still has, however even though she's put her teeth marks in it and a small hole from her canine in the bandage part the product is still doing the job it's ment to do.Also this product comes with some more flexible splints as well, (I'm currently using the solid ones) so as her injury heals it can be altered to her needs. 😊She's now been wearing the carpal brace for 5 days and I couldn't be happier with the product especially as my dog since using this item has started to occasionally try to walk on her hurt leg.It's a great product, I only wish that she could have has this from the start of her treatment as it would have caused much less distress to my dog and no injuries to her skin.

Wir haben diese Bandage zum zweiten Mal als leichtere Alternative zu einer Orthese gekauft,welche vom gleichen Hersteller gefertigt wurde- insofern haben wir gute Qualität erwarten dürfen und sie auch bekommen ! Die Bandage ist leicht an- und abzulegen, pflegeleicht und in der Stützung variabel (vielleicht auch für Agility toll, wenn man die Stäbe weglässt?).Unser Rüde ist stark durchtrittig und wegen eines Muskelabrisses an der Schulter links instabil-darum benutzen wir die Metallverstärkung statt der Plastikstreben-das erzielt eine gute Fixierung.Wir benutzen sie in erster Linie im Winter,weil der Schnee sich in die Orhese setzt, aber auch, falls die Orthese mal scheuert, oder unser Wauz nicht soviel tobt( z.B.daheim, Auto,etc). Alles in Allem eine wirklich rundum gut durchdachte Bandage- nur die Stelle unter dem Karpalgelenk könnte für uns festeres Material gebrauchen, weil sie relativ schnell dünn wird (allerdings länger hielt als die anderen,von uns getesteten Bandagen), das wird aber daran gelegen haben, dass durch sein Handicap wirklich grosse mechanische Belastung entsteht(er wiegt 35 Kilo) -und vielleicht, dass wir die erste in M statt L bestellt haben.Wir werden definitiv wieder auf diese Bandage zurückgreifen,weil sie unserem Hund - und somit auch uns- das Leben leichter macht.

I bought this splint after my senior rescue greyhound girl was diagnosed with a broken wrist, sadly due to cancer. My vet had suggested pts or amputation. Reluctant to do either I purchased this product. I did have to provide additional padding due to my dog's thin, fragile skin. Within 6 weeks, I was able to remove the splint. She has been able to go on walks, slowly, and has even managed to go downstairs by herself.I would recommend careful measurement of your dog's limb before purchasing. Otherwise I'd heartedly recommend this. Given my girl a new lease of life and indeed extended her life.
