SOUNDFLOWER--THE JOURNEY TO MARRY SCIENCE AND SPIRITThe truth is, this book needs three reviews. When I first started it, I was struck with the sweetness of the author’s personal story and the heartfelt way she shared the spiritual experiences of her youth. The further I got into it, I realized it was the story of an aspirant who the Universe handed the components of a spiritual journey which was designed to lead to some very significant scientific discoveries regarding therapeutic sound and its visual components. The autobiographical part of the book alone is worth reading, even without the other aspects.There is also reference to the scientific research which was collected by the author, (an integral part of the story), that would appeal to those looking for proof of the power of sound to heal the human form. There is an innocence in the way the author approaches her challenges that helps us identify with her true story and the spiritual guidance she was clearly receiving. She shares her love for the grandeur of the universe and its wondrous secrets, along with realizations early in life that could be the keys for the healing of the world. Those looking for science will find it, from a completely different perspective.The third review should be written by someone who is an art critic. The book itself is stunningly beautiful, not to mention that the illustrations inside are never before seen sound-made-visible images that the author reveals as some of the signs and symbols that will help to lead us home—home to ourselves and to our own spiritual path. Meditation-worthy, the images will draw you in to a deep place of contemplation, as is the wish of the author.I strongly recommend this book to spiritual seekers and those with the curiosity to look beyond some of the current accepted scientific tenets.

If I were a writer this would be an awesome review full of over the top praise in glorious fashion for SOUNDFLOWER! Since that's not the case you will just have to make do with my so-so writing ability.The beautiful photos alone are worth the price of the book. Who knew sound could be so visually stunning. My right brain orientation is in awe of the sight of sound! What's that old saying...opposites attract? Check out science and spirit hooking up and making a marriage work!We all know everyone has a back story...some more intriguing than others. Well,there must be something in the drinking water in Kansas to produce someone like Mandara. Wow just wow...she is off the chain brilliant! Her story is a fascinating journey and I enjoyed every step of the way with her. And I'm looking forward to the next adventure.Treat yourself to this amazing read. I'm going to recommend Soundflower to my book club...should make for a lively discussion!

My father was a physics professor so I grew up with science being the standard test and it is crucially important to our lives. However, the ability to unite science with spirituality has been transformative in my life and Soundflower reinforces and broadens my understanding of the way these seemingly disparate approaches to thinking and living are, in fact, essential companions to one another.The story that Mandara relates is captivating and the science is absolutely clear about what most of us know intuitively: sound can soothe, can make us laugh, can be unpleasant, can bring back a forgotten memory, it can even bring us tears of joy. So Sound as a method of Healing must be an innate part of our Universe.I urge you to read this book and share it with your friends and family. Not only is the information empowering, the book is beautifully produced, a work of art itself!

This is is a delightful book, and an important read for anyone wanting to learn more about the cutting-edge work currently being done in the field of cymatics and sound therapy. The book is a visual feast as well, with stunning illustrations throughout. I was deeply moved by the sincerity and generosity of Mandara Cromwell’s quest to find a way to keep this non-invasive sound healing method alive and make it available to larger numbers of people. Her innovations in the field have resulted in a brilliant and highly effective delivery system for transmitting the resonant sound frequencies, which can bring the cells of the body into greater harmony. I have personally used the AMI 750 (Acoustic Meridian Intelligence) and observed a remarkable reduction in stress levels and inflammation markers. There are so many applications for this healing modality, and so many lives which could be bettered by its use!
