Medimitt Paw Bandage

After cleaning the paw and applying proper ointment, I put the medimitt on my dog's paw and then put the paw into a breathable boot so we could take a walk without concern of harm or further infection. GREAT item! Indoors, worn without the outer shoe is fine, but for activity, adding a shoe is perfect.

I really wanted to like these, but they don’t stay on at all. The minute my dog moves they slide down, no matter how tight a have them. The concept is great, but the overall function just isn’t there. They are lightweight, soft, sized correctly and appear to be comfortable as long as my dog doesn’t move.

These medical booties are great for dog paws where you don’t want them to lick them. It’s much better than using a cone. I spray the bootie with bitter apple just a few times and then the dog gets the hint to just leave it alone. I also wrap it in gauze to give it extra protection so my dog can’t get it off. The only issue I have is the pad does not stay and folds or moves around when putting it on the dog. The best thing is they are breathable! I have tried some others that say they are breathable but are not. Downsize is they are quite expensive. I change the bootie out about 3 times per day.

Our rottweiler had to have a toe pad removed. In between vet visits and treatment we aired his wound out using the xtra large bandage. These were perfect. The sock bandage is light, breathable and easy to put on and take off. They do not stick to his wound. They are pricey but work well.

I was hopeful, but once again, the extra large does not fit my Saint Bernard. So just to let everybody know who has a large breed dog I have a nine month old puppy that weighs 165 pounds and the extra large would break open if I try to put it over his foot. Otherwise, the material is nice and it’s a great product. I feel bad giving it a one star but unfortunately, I was not able to return this so it’s gonna go in the trash.

My cat hates it and she would try to shake it off nonstop. However it still stays on for at least a few hours and we are happy about it.

I'm a nurse - should have known better. Anyone who has had a dog with paw issues that requires bandaging/protecting (especially small dogs, active pooches & puppies) know the frustration of creating a covering with gauze, socks, nonstick pads and elastoplast is quite a feat! These are so overpriced for what you get, but if they work & size is right - it would be worth it. My 11lb pom needed to wear bandage covering on BOTH back paws to let her pads heal & to keep ointment on paws. She got them both off first time. 2nd time trying them, she jumped up on bed and the "non-slip" slipped & she hurt herself. She won't use steps up to bed. I have hardwood floors and she had trouble walking in these 'catcher mitt' type paw covering. I had to start adding tape to keep them on. I added small piece of velcro on bottom to help grip. It stuck alright - to all the wrong things. Added grips on the bottom which helped a little. It was taking too long to put these on with my additions, and she would have them off or half off by morning. Half off was more concerning because I knew she could slip when running/jumping. Unless you have a very sedentary dog, or just need one paw covered - these are disappointing especially for the price.

This product is awesome! I rescued a dog on the side of the road and his front paw pads were gone. After a month of using gauze wrap and lots of tape and having to have three people to change the bandages I knew there had to be a better way! Found these and thought I'd give them a try! I wish I had found them a month earlier. They may seem a little on the expensive side but they are worth every penny. Now, I can change his bandages all by myself, no fuss, no muss, no pulling it off before I get all the tape. I found another bootie with no skid bottoms and velco wrap so I put those over these. It works out great!

My cat - who is toothless - can pull this off his foot in less than 60 seconds. A strip of medical tape managed to hold it overnight, but that would have worked with much cheaper options. They are otherwise well-made.
