Kevin J Anderson -The lost ones
Still reading it on and off but the writer really understands the personality of the characters I've read on so far. Still more to read but its really like experiencing a star wars episode and the writer extends certain details of places hinted in the films with visual details that are entertaining . Again much more to read but I'm enjoying the book thus far. I would purchase more on this saga by the author or other book of this genre.

Another good one.
I don't usually have any complaints about Star Wars novels. The Young Jedi Knights series is no different. The Lost Ones is book number three and it introduces Zekk for the very first time (Quite interesting, because I've read a few dozen other novels with him in it, so seeing his first appearance was cool). You see more of the Shadow Academey and Admiral Ackbar makes a guest appearance. The main cast of Jacen, Jaina, Lowbacca, and Tenal Ka remain. Han, Leia, Anakin, 3PO, and Luke all appear. It's got action, humor, and it's an easy read.

Great Star Wars
This is a great series for any serious Star Wars fans. Details the rise of jedi knights who go on to star in the future novels.

Children Will Love It
Finally, The "Young Jedi Knights Series" starts to feel like a series. "The Lost Ones" brings back Jacen, Jaina, Tenel Ka, and Lowie. We meet a new friend, Zekk, who's lured to the Dark Side by the children's old nemeses, Brakiss and Tamith Kai.Here, we see the development of the relationship between Jacen and Tenel Ka. Whereas in the adult books, it just seemed to happen, I am pleased to find there was a history.Zekk also appeared to be a new character in the adult novels, but this novel serves as his debut. He and the twins actually went way back. Characters I thought were new actually weren't so new after all. What a delight is to read their introduction into the Star Wars universe. There are some short-comings, maybe because children like to read about other children who are more brilliant than adults. Adults in this book can't seem to do anything while the children know all. Why does Pekham need the kids to fix his mirror station? He couldn't do it but a bunch of children can? Why couldn't the Coruscant military figure out the fighters attacking are short-range fighters? Why couldn't any adult see that there is a cloaked ship in an area devoid of debris? Only the kids have the smarts for this. Children love this kind of stuff, so great reading for the kids. Adults will just have to get used to it.We finally get to find out who the mysterious Great Leader is. Until now, he was just some evil guy. He's still evil. I wonder about his booby trap plan to keep Brakiss and Tamith Kai and future Dark Jedi in line. I mean, it's not like they never leave the Shadow Academy. They've been going out on missions to kidnap children, after all. For a Great Leader, he's not very bright. Maybe it's because he's an adult.I'm still enjoying reading the young adult novels. It would be nice if they felt more young adult and not so junior in their portrayal of the universe. Adults aren't that dumb.

Enter Zekk
Zekk's an under-city "scamp" who happens to be friends with Jacen and Jaina, but after a disastrous political dinner, he seeks refuge where he's most comfortable and encounters people making him an offer he can't refuse. That offer is the chance to not be overlooked, to perhaps achieve his true potential. Remember the lure of the dark side is strong and promising. Not knowing what's truly happening, Jacen, Jaina, their friends, and even their brother, Anakin, search frantically for Zekk. Jacen and Tenel Ka get the closest and come face to face with a hard truth.I don't think this is the best story of the series, but it's one that can make you think how you treat your friends. It's an integral piece to the first 6 book story arc. A quick, easy, fun read.
