Good start and idea of product needs some work
I wanted to give this product 5 stars. But I just can not. The reason for that is that I have been using the NEXFAN during a 90 degree day and it is just not holding up. The filter I freeze as it says you are able to put the filter in the fridge wet. That seems to work on days that are a bit less hot. It seems that I am always having to refill the ice in the top. of the unit of which is not helpful. Really folks please understand I am not trying to use this review to bash or say this product is bad. Actually I think it is a great concept but it needs some work. What they need to do is get rid of the hold that you use in the top to fill the water that is letting the ice melt to soon. Also see if there is a way to make the ice stay colder longer perhaps like a mini cooler that you take on a camping trip with you. Also I think it could use a more powerful fan. The fan that is in it would be something that would be used to cool down a household appliance. I understand they are going for ease of use and small size but a stronger fan would help get the cooler air out there and push the air through the filter. There is also a lot of condensation and you are using a lot of water which is bad if you have lots of other appliances or plugs around. Also water is bad if it is in an area of your house like a carpet or hardwood floor that you do not want to get wet you have the chance of accidental spill. So something needs to be done with that as well. So with a little work I think this product could actually be something great. Again please understand I am not trying to make this a bad review or bash this product this is an honest review. Like I said above the product concept is a great idea it just needs some work.

A great little gadget
I purchased this because I am working from home and it is summer on the East Coast. I wanted a small portable unit for when the computer room gets hot and sticky. A window unit would blow directly on me and portable ones bigger in size were expensive and require more power than currently available in the space. The reviews were spot on. From a full tank, I got two days' use (3-4 hours each day). I started with tap water and it cools decently. I know I can try ice cubes or ice water so I will try that the next time I use it..Two things, when it is on the highest setting, the fan sound is noticeable. That was stated in reviews so I was prepared for it. I have to lower it down when I am on a phone call. Also, pay attention to the pictures closely. One of the graphics say "USB Charging", and I took that to mean I charge and use it wirelessly. It actually has to be plugged in all times. I reread the description and nowhere does it state it works wirelessly. The included cord is only 3' long and Micro USB so if you plan to have it further away from the power source, you will a longer cord. The only other challenge I had was getting the filter drawer to open. Once it did, it was easy to secure back in place. All in all, a good value for the money !

It's decent
I ordered two of these. Overall, they are insanely easy to use; a little difficult to unbox and set up, but not horribly so.They cooled the area pretty well. These are not an item that will cool an entire bedroom by itself. They are essentially a cooling humidifier for personal use.One of my units came faulty, it had a horrible burning smell when it would operate and got hot enough for the plastic housing of the unit to be warped. I contacted the seller and they assured me that they would send out another one. I am waiting to see if/when it gets here. It's definitely not a room air conditioner, but it will help keep the air cooler than just a fan.Update 07/25: I'm not sure which of the two units (I believe it's the one I was sent for the original faulty one) does not seem to be using the water as the other one does. I've deducted another star because that's a 33% success rate with these.IMHO, save your money... Just shell out the $200-300 for a plug in moveable air unit.I'm a little salty that I've spent $100 on essentially one working unit and it's not all that, nor a bag of chips. 🙄😏

portable and the noise level is a plus when working
I did not like the standard fan noise so this unit gets an extra point for the low noise level. I love it that the noise level is really low when I am working since I use the usb to plug next to my laptop. the ice and water definitely helps with the cooler temperature. The unit seems sturdy and durable and easy to operate. You literally just poor the water on the top of the unit or add ice to the top of the unit. The only thing I didn't like is pulling out the bottom part of the compartment to take out the filter. The instruction said it was optional so I gave up after a few minutes of haggling with it. It felt like it should be designed easier to take out the filter. I wonder how I am going to wash it when the filter is dirty. Only time will tell how often I need to clean it. I will update in about a few months to see how this unit holds up.

It must be plugged in to work
This review is for the mini air conditioner/fan that mists water. It is very small. The fan works, but only for about 2 feet away from it. I haven't put ice water in it, yet. I can tell you that it says to freeze the filter and I can see how that would really make the air cold that it blows. I can also say that the mist holes are tiny so if that part works, which it looks like it should, it isn't going to spray you with water. Also, I want to mention that it must be plugged in to work. It doesn't charge.

I'm impressed with this little machine.
I'm impressed with this little machine. I read the reviews before I ordered this so I knew upfront that it was smaller that what it appears to be (in my opinion). It's perfect for my use in a single, 13X13 foot room. It suggests to use ice water & a frozen or refrigerated filter that comes with it of course, for a better cooling effect. I did that and it does makes a difference. I got lazy and quit doing that and used tap water to soak the filter and to fill the tank. It cools very well, for my needs, just doing that.
