Forbidden (Braddock Black) Review: LOVE, LOVE, LOVE THIS BOOK!! - This is my absolute favorite Susan Johnson book. I've read it a million times! Review: Liked the story but .... - I enjoyed the story. But the only big white elephant in the middle of the room which was ignored was with so much reckless sexual experience of our hero, it's amazing he didn't seem to have any std's, especially in those days and in the city of lights. That's the only flaw that keeps coming back to me.

Susan Johnson is a remarkable story teller, bringing life to extraordinary charactors
This was with out a doubt the best of this authors books. All of her works are better than most but this one was the best.

Guilty pleasure
I love Susan Johnson! Not only are her novels super sexy but they are well written and researched! How often can you say that about a romance novel? I've been reading her books for years and this one did not disappoint! My partner also loves these books, he doesn't read them but he sure reaps the benefits!

Excellent story!!!
This book had me smiling the whole time I LOVED the history regarding Montana---my grandfather was in politics and a state senator of Montana during 1888-1894--so it gave me an idea on the living during that time ----where our ranches were in Custer county, several ranches were owned by wealthy European men...Thank you for your wonderful story it's a keeper to read again!!!!

I really enjoy the well developed characters and personalities evil or good. Wonderful romance☺
Such an interesting look into history. Both in old and new world happenings. Hard to understand vindictive thought processes but glad things worked out for good.

Not as good as some of the author's other books - quite boring. Order Silver Flame for a hot book!
I ordered this because it is the sequel to Silver Flame, but was seriously disappointed. Author is in love with her sophisticated vocabulary, but it makes the book very difficult to read and the love scenes don't make up for the difficulty. Both Blaze and Silver Flame are much better books. I will be cautious with the author in the future.

SJ writes very well but dramatic tension was lacking. The heroine, an American Indian millionairess and lawyer, visits France and falls in love with a married Duke who is notorious for his womanising. They both fall in lust with each other a bit too quickly and then we are supposed to believe that this is love. The heroine was a bit too sexually experienced to seem that much different from all of the Duke's other sophisticated flirts. When he decides to divorce his wife for her the heroine is very unsupportive. She leaves him to deal with the very messy divorce proceedings and returns to the US. The divorce proceedings drag out for too long but finally the Duke is free to follow Daisy to the US and the novel's pace picks up again. Well written but too long and lacking in real romance.

First, I loved Daisy’s father’s story too. But the Duc is just too, too damn sexy and really, really in love with Daisy. I must have read this 4-5 times now. Not something I’ve done for any other books except Johnson’s. Yes there is sex, but there are sweeping romances-in the early books at least. And glimpses of history and cultures different from our own. Not Me Too! Cultures, but that isn’t why one reads romances is it…Absolutely LOVED this book. Forget any “wordiness”. READ the beautiful words and enjoy them! This isn’t Twitter after all!
