Great book but had to contact Simon and Schuster Support to get it right.
This book is fantastic. Such a great variety of game styles and types. The book itself and the way everything looks is so pretty.Sadly, I ordered two copies from Amazon and both of them came to me as copies that were black and white and didn't have the perforated pages. I contacted Amazon and the replacement they sent me also had the same issue so I had to contact the official Simon and Schuster support page and they very kindly and speedily solved my problem and sent me the right book with full color perforated pages.

Hours of diverse tabletop fun!
If, like me, you're a DND fan who's interested in branching out to new, exciting systems but in a way that's relatively low-stakes, this is the book for you! The games are short and easy to learn, and they cover a wide variety of genres. It's an excellent way to dip your toe into genres outside of the traditional "fantasy" settings -- although fantasy is definitely still included if that's what you're looking for. I particularly love microrpg's because I feel like I can take more risks. The fact that each game is essentially a oneshot means that I can make choices that I might be afraid to commit to in a longterm campaign. In the world of COVID-19, as well, it is nice to have short games to play with friends via video call that are quick and easy for everyone to learn and that require relatively few supplies. My friends and I are going to have a lot of fun making our way through these games. In short, I highly recommend this book!

Fantastic games bundled into a well designed book.
This book is absolutely beautiful. The materials arw sturdy and high quality. The layout and design of each of the games on each page are all fantastic. As far as content, there are quality games for players of all levels and skills and interests. My favorite so far is Hammer of the Earth. As always, James provides plenty of gaming tips and tricks and makes the entire book very easy to pickup and learn.I know the pages are perforated but it almost feels sacrilegious to tear a single page out.

Great selection of games very well laid out.
This is a great book of games to help play collaborative stories with friends. The layout is well done, with each game taking up one double sided page within the book. Each game then has its own stat box that tells you most of the things you may need to know to see if the game is worth reading further into for what you want. The stats include things like number of players, time expected, complexity, genre etc.I've only played a couple of the games, but the ones I've played have helped us play both absurd and hilarious games, and some more serious experiences. If you would like to get a better idea of some of the games before you purchase this, you can listen to a few actual plays through the One Shot Podcast network.

Fun one-shot games, Easy to learn and play
I love this book so far. My group played Van Gogh’s Ear out of it for a holiday themed game, and it was a blast. Now we’re planning to play Pig at a Wedding. There are so many different styles of games, and I love the organization of the book and keys based on complexity, etc. If you’re interested in running one-shot games with very little prep, this book is a great way to mix things up from your usual system. Oh, I also like that you can tear out the page for whatever game you’re playing and they’re printed on heavy stock. Buy this one!

Incredibly fun for the whole family!
My parents know next to nothing about RPGs like DnD and Monster of the Week, so this book was a fun way to get them used to how they can tend to work!My whole family has been enjoying the nights where we sit down and pick an rpg to play together; and I'd suggest this book to anyone looking for something other than a boardgame to be the main event for your at-home family night!

Not for me
I like the setup of the games, and there are a few that seem like they'll be fun, but overall there's a lot of weird or depressing stuff. Even the games that are tagged "Funny" have a really dark cast to them. I can see a lot of these games being fun if you have a certain group that's bored of long-form RPGs and likes serious and emotional content, but there are others I don't see anyone enjoying. There's one based around aggravating the other players, and the game ends when it stops being fun... but you're supposed to have really serious distractions in that game, like having a relative with declining health, or a pending divorce. I don't see that being fun at all. There's a big section about the beginning about creating a safe space for stuff like this, but I think this goes beyond it to being a tonal problem. I guess players can make their own content for the games they find promising, but that doesn't make the game good.Lastly, you can tear the pages out and each page (front and back) is a full game, which is interesting for scanning/copying purposes, but I was expecting the book to be laid out in the opposite way, where when you have the book open you can read the whole game (back of one page, front of the next page). I see where you could want it either way, but I'd prefer the other way.I knew I wouldn't like every game, but I was expecting to like more than half a dozen out of 40. I'm returning it, sorry guys.

Great games, Great presentation!
This book has 40 micro RPGs that are each on one page, double sided. Each page is tear-able, so when you play the games you can just take out the page you want! Obviously I haven't read each one, but from a read through each looks fantastic. Highly recommended to anybody who wants to tip their beak into RPGs that are different from D&D.

Absolute role playing treasure
I love this book and I've already played several of the games. There are group games, duet games, letter writing games - a great variety, also in tone, setting and genre. The design is amazing, with every game getting a unique and fitting design for the game. Also really appreciate how many marginalized designers are included in this book. I hope there will be a sequel to this.(The only thing I did not like was the fact the games are made to be torn out, I'd rather keep the book intact.)
