I honestly didn't think this would solve our issues but figured it was worth a try and I am SO GLAD I DID. Of course, kids are messy and this will not solve all of it. The snack tray is small, so don't expect it to hold all of your little one's food if you stop for fast food or feed them on the go. It does, however, give a much more secure cupholder than most carseats and the little tray area is great for being able to set down small things (toy cars, gems, snacks, whatever) so they don't inevitably tumble to the floor right away. Not a catchall for sure, but it does catch some and that counts for a lot with me. In addition, I don't have to remove or replace it every single time we get in and out. It sometimes can get in the way of the car door closing when they are on the door side but can easily be pushed/pulled out of the way with a quick touch and can be removed for easy cleanup. My only disappointment was that the whole piece is placed in our car cup holder beside the kids because they wouldn’t fit in the car seat cup holder. So the trays are off to the size instead of right up front where we initially planned to store them. We have Graco car seats and if it would have been fitted for that - it would have been 5 star.
