I connect this transfer switch to my home electrical panel and to transfer 6 specific circuits to me generator when the power goes out. One of the Reliance Amp meter was not working well so I ourchased these two DROK Multimeter to replace them. The wiring was clear enough (both on the back of the unit and on the notice). there was some comments on previous reviews on the length of the wires included with the package. I found them long enough if you intend to set your Multimeter next to the transfer switch box. Set up took less than 20 min and the meters are working perfectly - showing both voltage and amps. Is there any easy way with 1 CT** A: This may help you: In order to PROPERLY read current on split phase systems like a typical house, You need THREE Current transformers and meters (NOT 3-PHASE!). 1 on L1, 1 on L2, and 1 on NEUTRAL (ALL of them) The neutral leg will show all 120v current on BOTH busses. The other two will allow you to separate viewed currents of the 240 from the 120 devices: IE: meters show: L1 - 10A L2 - 12A , Neutral - 2 A. THAT would mean your 240v devices are pulling 10 A and The devices on L2 to neutral (120v) is pulling 2A. Another example: L1 - 12A, L2 - 13A Neutral - 5A Tis would be: all 240 devices pulling 10A 120v Bus L1 is pulling 2A, and 120v Bus L2 is pulling 3A. FInal Example: L1-13A, L2-12A, Neutral - 25A. This would show NO 240 devices drawing power, 120v L1 Bus draws 13A , 120v L2 Bus draws 12A. Example: If it draws 35 amps on the leg (phase) your reading it will draw 35 amps on the other. Same formula, if it shows 4.2 KW on the leg (phase) your reading then it will draw 4.2KW on the other. This would make the total KW of the heater 8.4 KW or 8400 watts. This only should be installed indoors. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good prduct at a reasonable price *by O***T on May 19, 2016* I bought this to monitor the load on a 6kW Onan diesel generator I use to recharge my home battery backup system in emergencies. Inexpensive, but works just fine. I used CAT5 cable for the connections, doubling up the 8 wires to make 4 pairs. As others have commented, the leads on the CT transformer are short, but in many applications they'd likely need to be lengthened anyway, so I don't know what factory length might be considered useful. Note: If you are also buying a box to mount this in, I'd recommend a metal one (or one with a metal front panel like this one: Electronics Enclosure Plastic Project Box 5.25" x 3.25" x 1.562" ) as the tabs that secure the unit don't allow quite enough clearance for the thicker wall of the plastic box I had on hand.
