As it turns out, my little dog is seriously out of proportion. I had no real idea until I measured him for this vest where his neck came in as "small," his chest came in bordering as "medium," and his length falls under "large." What on earth!?I went with the large, which feels off given that he's all of 18 lbs soaking wet, but this was a good decision based on the fact that the vest does cover his entire backside. The neck area being looser actually worked in his favor, being more comfortable, and the fabric, having considerable stretch, works just fine in his chest area too.The vest is really, really cute. It provides the warmth I was looking for, and the comfort factor as well. While my dog has a couple of other outfits, the puffy vest I have for him made him look uncomfortable and out of place at home. This vest is completely appropriate for wearing at home on these chilly nights and to bed. It's also nice that it has the rings to which you can attach the leash to wear as a harness, though if you need more control while walking your dog, I'd suggest keeping the leash attached to the collar.The quality of the fleece is nice, doesn't seem to pill (so far) and best of all, he likes wearing it!I'd highly recommend this item. If it were just a few dollars cheaper, I'd buy one in every color.

I ordered two of these little vests for my small dogs who get cold easily. Based on numerous other reviews that said they run very small, I ordered a Medium for my otherwise-small dog (8 pounds). It arrived and was HUGE. I returned it and ordered a Small for my 8-pounder, and an XS for my 6-pounder.The XS was TINY and did not fit my 6-pounder. It would probably work well for toy dogs, around 3 pounds. I'm returning it.The Small was too small for my 8-pounder! I was so disappointed. The length was great, but it is tight around his ribs. I tried the Small on my 6-pounder, and it fit her well. Unfortunately, I really need it for my 8-pounder!I'm giving it four stars even though I've now had to return 2 of the 3 I bought because it's a great design, well-made, and looks really nice. I love the double D-rings on the back so you can attach a leash directly to the vest, without the need of a harness. This is exactly what I've been wanting!I'm now wondering if the very large Medium was just a fluke, or wrongly labeled, since it was significantly larger than the Small. I may order a second Medium just to see if it works.

This is cute, warm enough for most cold days, and easy to put on. I bought two of them.One problem: It was a little tight right in the middle for my thin-furred and barrel-chested pup, so it caught his fur in the zipper and I couldn't tell until I removed it and fur fell on the floor. :-(Solution: Once I understood why the poor thing seemed afraid of his new jacket, I cut two 1.5" slices in the coat, right at the tightest place, parallel to the zipper. The fabric doesn't fray, and it just gave him enough ease so he isn't stuffed in like a sausage. At first I thought I might sew a piece of felt over each slice, but it actually is fine just as is. I would buy the same jacket again in the same size, knowing it can be "stretched" a bit this way.They love them, and the thin-furred dog now likes to wear his all day in the chilly house.

A medium size fits perfectly for my 14-lbs rat terrier. The pink color is very cute, the fleece is good quality. The zipper on the back is easy to put on and I love the 2 D-rings for the leash. Well designed and will purchase again.

My 9.74 lb miniature schnauzer is wearing a medium. Glad I chose this size. She has a small circumstance for a neck around 9 inches or so but her chest is around 16 inches with a length around 12 inches. She’s quite long legged so clothes often fit odd in the leg hole area but this fleece seems to fit nicely. I don’t think she’s sure of it yet but I have a feeling she will be thanking me soon as we venture out into the colder weather this fall and winter. Our winters in Central California are pretty mild temperature wise. We usually see an average temperature in the mid 60s but the nights and mornings can get down to freezing temps. This fleece shall come in handy during the evenings and early mornings. the fit might be a little long but just barely. I’m glad it fits her whole body to keep her extra warm. The fabric does stretch and it allows breathability and extra roomy comfort while not losing its purpose to keep her nice and warm. This Koda Mae.

I now have a few coats from this brand as the addition of the d rings mean my little dog can be walked without having to add a harness so she is not cluttered up with too much apparel. The fleece is true to size as advertised but is a snug fit if pooch is not slimline

I followed the size chart provided by the brand and bought a size large for my 21 lb miniature schnoodle, and it fits perfectly. This brand is definitely aimed at small-breed dogs. I bought this for my guy to wear as a fall/spring sweater, and to layer it under his winter coat when it gets really cold in mid-winter, and this sweater feels like just the right weight for that type of use. The coat is a really soft fleece nicely finished with sewn hems, with what appears to be a weather-sealed zipper, and plastic D-rings for the leash sewn into the coat. We haven't used it yet, so I can't attest to the quality of the D-rings, but it feels and looks like a quality item. Also, the colour is great.Update: After a few months of use, I can say that the D-rings work just fine as a leash attachment option. However, I wouldn't recommend using them if your dog is a puller, as I imagine it would stretch out the sweater over time.

This is a great vest for our little dog. Fits well and looks great. It is soft and fits well. Zipper seems to be good quality. One caution.. do NOT order by the text of the ad. Order according to the size chart. You will see that they don't agree. The size chart is correct.

Very nice dog sweater. Pay close attention to sizing. My Shih Tzu is only 17 pounds and the size large fit very well. The sweater is well constructed and fleece material is nice and soft.

I love this fleece! I especially appreciate the leash clip on the outside as I don't need to put any harness or collar on my pup while going out! It's very well made and cozy! I have trouble finding coats that are long enough for my long mixed breed chihuahua and this was the perfect length.
