Bandana Laboratory 2015 -OR- Fade to white.
I like these bandanas and they do the job. I gave them a 4 instead of a 5 because while they're great for the price they aren't fantastic and I have serious doubts about their long term use. If that turns out to be a mistake on my part, I'll change it to a 5. Otherwise, worth buying if you want a variety of colors. The 27"x27" Trainmen Bandanas have a lot of reviews already. I wanted to add something I hadn't found and had been curious about, so I conducted some experiments.First off, I received 7 bandanas in my bundle, a mistake in my favor. They were all tagged "100% cotton. Made in China." The important part of the product description is that they are *printed*. These aren't dyed pieces of fabric that are cut into squares. If they're printed, they're pieces of white fabric that have the design printed on them, and not all printed ink sticks as well as others it turns out.I purchased them to be a head covering and sweat absorber when working in my shop. They are a thin cotton, and when folded in half they're breathable, moisture absorbing, and long enough that I can tie the ends of the triangle together without a problem. My not so scientific experiment:1) I hand washed each bandana in the sink with some Dawn dishsoap. I had a piece of white plastic on the bottom of the sink, so as I wrung the warm water out of them, I could see how much ink bled from each one, and if one was worse than the others. The blue and the red ink showed up longer in a rinse than the rest.2) I washed the blue and green ones together in one small load, hot/cold on delicate. In my washing machine that means they water sits there for a few minutes and then gets agitated for a few seconds. I did the same for the red and the black *and the white*. I used a small amount of all and a small amount of Oxyclean.3) The lid open switch on my top loading washer is disabled, so I would check on the wash mid agitation, stop the washer, and dip a clear glass into the water to see if it looked like there was any ink in it. It always looked clear in the glass.Results- The ink will definitely wash off a little. All of the dark bandanas have white fade lines after a hand and machine wash, but the color overall is still bright. What I didn't find any evidence of is the ink discoloring the *other* bandanas. The white one didn't end up pink, the green one didn't end up looking blue etc, and the inside of the washing machine looked like it did before I started.I didn't machine dry these, and have no plans too, since they would probably go from jumbo bandana to tiny handkerchief.I did wear the extra black and red one out of the package when I knew it would be exposed to moisture. I didn't end up with black and red ink on my forehead.5 month update- All of the bandanas from this pack have been used once a week, and laundered once a week. Cold wash line dry. The colors are still bright. There is some white threading showing here and there, but you can't really see it at a distance. None have frayed or worn through. A few of them have taken an unplanned ride in the dryer on high heat. I was genuinely surprised to see they didn't really shrink or warp. The edge seams showed minimal bunching and that was it. I wouldn't take this as a sign you could toss them in on their own since they were dried with a load of towels, which would mean they dried out gradually.

Not worth the money unless you only want the cloth.
When I got them, I briefly washed them in cold water to get the sizing out. I was quite surprised(!) to see a lot of the color come flooding out too. The red-on-black suffered worst (see photo), the red going to a blotchy pink. The black and olive were next. The red (not shown), strangely, hardly suffered at all. It must have been a different substance than was used in the red-on-black one. The white, obviously, had so little color that the color loss was pretty much unnoticeable.27x27 size: EXCELLENT!Dye that pours out in the wash-water, leaving the cloth streaked and faded looking? FAIL.I have a US-made kerchief (WAMCRAFT) that's at least 30 years old. The color is still as strong as when it was new. The cloth itself is nearly worn out from use, but the color remains solid and unchanged. Today everything comes from Mainland China, the misnamed PRC, and it's pretty clear that their products are made just to be sold, not to give satisfaction. The Mainland Chinese don't seem to care about repeat business, because I don't think I've ever bought anything made there that was worth the money I paid or that I would ever buy again. So now I only buy locally and from places like Amazon, that have good return policies. AND I try to avoid buying *anything* from Mainland China!Amazon would do us all a service if they started supplying country-of-manufacture information.

Not Exaxtly as Described
Let me first say, these bandanas will definitely serve their purpose and seem to be very soft after the first wash. I did not notice any bleeding of the colors. That being said, the ones I received were not 27"x27", it was 27"x25". This makes the bandana rectangular and difficult to fold diagonally. I'm not a huge perfectionist, and it's just going to be worn on my head, but the item should be as described. I don't believe that's a lot to expect. Or maybe it is?

Nice Quality-no fading, minimal shrinking when washed in extra-hot water!
We needed some large bandanas to wear as masks we could pull up and down while hiking. Most bandanas are a little too small to easily pull up and down over your nose while staying securely tied. These arrived promptly, but loose in an envelope. Made in China, shipped from Brooklyn NY, so I felt they needed to be well-washed before going anywhere near my face. I'm using these to prevent COVID, after all.I washed them in the Sanitize cycle of my washer (extra-hot water) & dried them on Sanitize (high heat.) There was no dye transfer (I bought the black on white ones) and the finished size was 26". ANY fabric would shrink w/ this treatment, so I'm impressed w/ their quality. They softened somewhat, will obviously need more washing & wearings to get them to that soft cotton feel; they are still slightly stiff.

THESE are bandanas!
Was looking for good quality and big sized bandanas for my big head and these came through.Material is good cotton and sturdy but not too stiff, only one side is printed clearly while the other side is slightly faded, but honestly you can barely tell the difference.I use bandanas for exercising and holds my sweat very well and will wrap around any huge head.I definitely recommend buying these if you're looking for a good set of bandanas and reasonable quality. Will buy more in the future.

Bandanas OK. . But should be better.
Like the bandanas. Big. Cotton softened during first wash. Two negatives. First the hemmed edges became frayed during first laundering. Made them look not new before first use. Second, unlike most good bandanas the color looks good on one side, not so good on other side. This can also make it appear not new before first use. I think I may shop around for different source next time. Patina look is fine after an item earns it, not when it's new.

One sided and painted on design.
Not happy. These have a design on one side and it's painted on. WTF? I previously ordered these a few years ago and they were simple wove cloth with the design on both sides. (i.e., no paint!)

Does the job but only for my dog not for me.!
Bought these for my dog as a neck scarf as he is a bit of a drooler. They are a good size and for fun wrapped then around my head as I’m bald and thought one might do for me and had bags or room and I have a stupidly massive head. Two of them have already began to fray long one edge which I’m not overly worried about as they are only for the dog. They are reasonably soft materials but not exactly Egyptian Cotton.Marked them low as if these were for human or everyday wear they won’t last too long
