**Q: can the xp be used with conventional, non-synthetic, oil?**
A: The XP variant is specifically designed for long oil change intervals. I have used both type 51515s and could see no difference in performance. I run Mobil Super Duty non-synthetic 10W 40 in my '94 Ford with either filter. The old Red Rider has 202,000 miles on its original 5.0 L V8 and the oil and standard WIX filter get changed every 2000 miles. These heirloom engines DO NOT LIKE synthetic oils. Synthetics will cause leaks in places where they never were before. Using non-synths put a stop to this. Use whichever WIX is the best deal, but by all means stick with WIX filters, the Gold Standard.

**Q: Is it suppose to come sealed in plastic? Because mine didn't.**
A: Wix filters usually don’t come wrapped in plastic

**Q: Will this fit a 1996 ford 4.9? 300 straight six**
A: Call your auto part store for current size.
