Husband loves this hat. Fits well and covers the ears too! It's lightweight and can be packed for travel. Easy to hand wash. It's on the expensive side but worth it! Classic for every situation, but he uses it for golf and any outdoor activity here in south Florida. Excellent product!

Best hat I've ever owned. I've tried numerous sun hats, but most had an overly floppy brim and were too heavy in hot weather. I'm a fan of fedora style hats, and that's what I originally set out to find on Amazon. I found this hat, which has a slight teardrop crown, mimicking the fedora design, and it was made of weather resistant material, has a good medium brim (big ones are floppy and that was my first issue with last hats), and is very well designed. I checked out the company, watched a few video reviews and decided to give it a shot. Best $85 I've ever spent on any type of accessory, and I'd gladly pay it again in the future if I wanted another. Fantastic build quality. Brim is firm, but not hard (in other words it keeps it's shape without looking whacky). Great medium width for daily wear. Mesh does a pretty good job of ventilation; it's not perfect, but it's pretty good (the LTM8 would probably suit someone specifically looking for this given the entire crown is mesh). I love the dual windcord; I always have the back one on, and the front one can easily be stored into the hidden pocket when not in use. I love not having the cord hanging down when not in use. For sizing, use the chart on their website and any flexible cord or string as directed on the page. First time worked perfectly and the hat fits perfect.

Nice hat. Wears well, waterproof, even when the wind blows it in the pond on the golf course. Be sure you check the size chart for right fit. Good sun protection. Can get little warm for summer, but great in cooler weather. I wear it for both. I have 2 of them and like them a lot.

I own 3 Tilley hats. Great, comfortable and look good. I’ve owned my first one for 20 years, worn it a LOT while working outside, sweating, dirty…just hand wash and go again.

This Tilley is my favorite of my 6 hat Tilley collection. This is my first of their lighter weight versions, in nylon, and with breathable mesh around the top of the crown. Per Tilley instructions - and I can attest that they are excellent recommendations - this one was purchased to be just a little larger than I normally would have purchased. The hat is designed to fit down on the head, held on by gravity rather than by friction. And it is a lot more comfortable that way. There is a tie-down strap that holds the had on when it is windy. "Fits as expected" in this case means that the size I purchased is consistent with what I expected. What I like best about this hat is that the brim retains a smooth curve as contrasted with other floppy brims that are featured on Tilley hats. Floppy has its place, but I like the smooth curve of the LTM5 brim. The airflow feature is effective and this particular color does not absorb heat as much as do darker colors. Not directly related: an addition I made was to use a braided hat band made of shoelaces on the exterior crown where it meets the brim and it makes the hat very distinctive. Way back when, Tilley made these braided shoelace hatbands available for sale, and they do add a nice touch of style and color to the hat. I wish they would bring the hat band accessory back, but shoelaces these days are $7 a pair on this website, and it takes three pair, not a small cost.

Received my Tilley LTM5 hat a few days ago. I can see the reason for all the good reviews - well constructed, lightweight, nice thoughtful touches, right sized brim for travelling, fits true to size (per Tilley chart), and looks great. The reason for my purchase is I wanted a nice hat that I could take on a trip to Europe next year, but didn't want to have to always carry a rigid hat (did that last time). Neither did I want to wear a packable boonie hat that looks like you slept in it. Unlike the floppy boonie hats I have, the sides and crown of this hat are just rigid enough to hold a nice shape - yet I still expect to be able to pack it easily. The Rock Face color I ordered looks great too - a nice shade of gray that should work well with any outfit. So, while expensive, I am quite happy with this purchase. I also want to thank Great Lakes Outpost for shipping this in a full size box! While I expect it to take some abuse in packing I was happy to see that it wasn't wadded up into a ball and smashed inside a plastic bag.

This is a quality expensive hat that fits well, is water resistant, cleans up easily, garnered a lot of nice looking hat comments, and provides great sun protection……..but…… the “Airflo” struggles in very warm sunny days as things were hot and it wasn’t my golf game.
