Great Addition to the Watersong Series
I have to start this review by commenting about this cover...it is GORGEOUS!!!! This is by far my favorite in the series (and not just because it has our resident hottie, Daniel). It's dark and mysterious, which fits the story perfectly. Now that that's out of the way, onto the story. Amanda Hocking has delivered yet another amazing story in the Watersong series. The plot was chock full of action, adventure, excitement, and mystery. I would actually give this 4.5 stars if I could because I felt that the story was too short, and in some ways this novel didn't deliver for me.Amanda Hocking's writing is always great in my opinion. She knows how to weave a story, and draw you in just enough to leave you breathless. Then the next thing you know, it's the end of the book and you are clamoring for the next in the series. So you could say my expectations were pretty high for this novel. However, I didn't feel like the story progressed that much in this story. In some ways I felt that it read more like a novella than an actual novel. Nevertheless, Ms. Hocking's writing was great, and the story still blew me away with the twists and turns. I'm interested to see where the story goes in Elegy. The ending was fantastic, full of action, and a surprising death that will send shivers down your spine. While this is Gemma's story, I wanted a little more Harper's POV. In the previous books, there was basically an equal amount of both Harper and Gemma, but this seemed to be more from Gemma and the sirens perspective. Not that this is a huge problem because I loved being able to delve deeper into the back-story of the sirens, but I just wanted a little more Harper. We get to see more of Daniel, and he's slowly becoming more of a central character (YAY!!) Gemma's POV was interesting, and I love how her character has developed over the series so far.Overall, this was a great read and I can't wait for the next book, but the story is quick, and it's over before you know it. If the ending of this book (which is quite a shock) is any indication, I think that everything will come to and exciting and thrilling conclusion that will leave all of us blown away.4.5 stars :)

The third in the watersong series starts with you saying GEMMA! Here we continue Gemma' s struggle with being a siren, trying to accept her fate, protect love one's and fight to no longer be who she has become. In the first book,Gemma becomes a siren unwillingly. Penn, Thea and Lexi tricked Gemma into turning. Once turned, they revealed the curse of the siren to her. Gemma went off with them at the end to protect her family. The second book, brought Gemma back home but the sirens came as well. This book tore at your heart with her decision to use her siren song on Alex to what she hopes will keep him alive. Also we see Daniel and Harper grow closer and the concept of how Gamma can undo being a siren is revealed. In Tidal, Gemma continues to try to find a way to undo being a siren. At one point you feel there is a answer staring her right in the face, after all sirens are descendants of muses but she can't see `re forest beyond the trees. Gemma also sees the repercussions of what she did to Alex. Poor Alex, I cried for him in this book. He seems to be a shell just going through the motions of life. As Gemma is trying to protect everyone, Harper is going through her own angst. She's trying to help her sister without being overly protective, decide about school and be in her first relationship with the ever handsome and sweet Daniel. Ah Daniel, this book will have you fall in love with him more. Daniel is so in love with Harper he will do anything for her. Even if that means losing her to keep her and her family safe. The sirens that started it all. Penn continues to show just how evil she can be but does also show she keeps her word even if it means her demise. Lexi shows just how angry and crazy she is in this book. Her thirst for blood and power is so overwhelming you say whoa. Than there is Thea. She shows a side that makes you rethink.your opinion of her. She loves her sisters but doesn't agree with their methods. She also cares for Gemma and wishes to protect her. In the end, her decisions make you proud for she chose to do something honourable over everything else.can't wait for the fourth to come out.I hope Alex gets a happy ending and poor Daniel please don't let anything hurt him. Especially his love for Harper I would hate to see his desire to protect her and her loved ones come back to haunt him.

Better than the last one...
This is the 3rd book in the Water Song Series by Amanda Hocking. I read the last two and this was a good one to keep the series going. I am looking forward to the last book to see how it all ends up and if Gemma gets out of her curse. The ending of this book made me wish I could pick up the next one right away. I hate waiting for books to be released and so I have already ordered the last one and wait for its release and the mailman with a box from Amazon.I got the first book at a book signing, I enjoyed reading Amanda's Tryll series and I hope this one is as good....one book to go and I really, really want to read it now!!! I don't want to give too much away, but Harper is still trying to help Gemma get her life back. The only way that Gemma can think to help herself is to kill the sirens and that means finding the original curse so she can find a way to break it. This book gives you more history of the sirens and how they have lived for as long as they have. Daniel also has issues with Lexi as he has special abilities that she wants to know more about....lots more about...mummm!If you are reading this series do not miss this one.....only a bit to go before the next one is out...it is out already, but I will post the review soon....I have high expectations for this book.

Awesome Read :)
I absolutely loved this book! It's captivating from the start and delves deeper into the pasts of the sirens which is a huge insight and we learn a lot more about them! Gemma has grown and matured and Harper has finally relaxed and loosened the reigns so to speak and Daniel is there, being his awesome and dreamy self. It's also great that if you've read the short story forgotten lyrics you'll know Lydia, which makes a few appearances :)One downside is that i was really forward to seeing the cover with Penn and Daniel on the front, unfortunately it must of changed for the paperback which is a bummer :(

Can't wait for the next book.
Once again, i just couldn't put this book down and managed to finish this book in a couple of days. However 'Tidal' is far from the best book in the 'Watersong series' so far. I found it less action packed and more of a lead up to the next book, which is completely fine as i didn't find it boring and extremely eager for the next book to come out in August.

The characters are wonderful, the good and the bad and the quirky
This book series is very engaging, since Book one, including the prequel. The characters are wonderful, the good and the bad and the quirky! Great storyline and an interesting view of ancient Greek mythology.
