Racing against time
It really felt like i was racing against time, just like Pip was in this book. Bought the book when it came out but didn't read it until now when s2 of the Netflix show came out, wanted to read it before I was spoiled on tiktok about it. Holly's books are always so fun to read with the court room pictures, interviews, and the sound cloud podcast pics. The second book of this series was good, but nothing really beats the first one. It had all the characters we love and we even got to know some characters better. I love how we got to know Nat better as well as Conners family. The ending wasn't as satisfying as the first book, but I cried either way. Can definitely recommend it.

My daughter loved this book. Be aware that there are some dark, adult-y themes in this book. However, we read it together and it opened up a lot of great conversations for me and my 14 y/o daughter.

10/10 book!! LOVEEEEEE THISSS BOOOOOOOKKK!! Pip is my favorite ❤️ this sounds fake but fr fr this is such a great book!! Prob could be for age groups of like middle school- adults(?)! (No inappropriate content really just for some mature like topics but it’s reallly not that bad) it’s so good and I’m not even finished with the series yet (yes there is 3 books and this is the 2nd to the series) I’m gonna cry when I finish them 🥺

It was an entertaining story. I would recommend for a fun, engaging read.

Interesting!
Very interesting. Pip still trying to work through things while handling PTSD is crazy because there was a lot going on in this one. More depth and detail, more twist and turns and everybody is on the chopping block. I went in and out of it at a few points but still entertaining.

Unexpected Ending
There were so many twists with this book. I kept on thinking I had everything figured out but then something else would happen and I was completely thrown off guard by how it ended. There was one part I almost wish had been written differently----although I understand why it went that way. Since this book is about a girl who has a true crime podcast, it does also deal with the trial from the previous book and the reality of criminal proceedings where the laws might not necessarily match up with what is true. What Holly Jackson does is remind readers that the justice system isn't always fair, and it's not all fun and games. You might come to the end of the book feeling a bit like Pip---totally pissed. Which is the point of the book. But it's all cleverly done. An excellent sequel.

I gave stars...
So I came across the first in this trilogy at Walmart. It was sooo good I'd nearly finished it in a day and that night I thought to myself, I should go look for this specific book before the first is done and I have to start a different one not having this second one. Looked at the 5 closest Walmarts to me and only found the first and third if any so I decided to look on Amazon and try to rush it. First book was so good I still had two days in between the time this one got to me and I started it without wait. The price is great, shipping was fairly fast, and definitely came to the correct address as the correct product. So, Amazon gets all the stars. The book on the other hand compared to the first was not great. I had to force myself to finish just to complete the series hoping the third would be better since it says it's the best in the series and even it was not really good. But worth reading just to finish the trilogy if you are one of those people like me who absolutely need to finish things like me. Hopefully you will enjoy it more than I have or hopefully this review helps you.
