Gourmanity 2.2 lb Spanish Calasparra Rice for Paella, Rey del Arroz Authentic Spanish Calasparra Rice from Spain

It was great for the paella that my husband made and one cup went a long way .

Arrived fast and is good quality Spanish Calasparra rice. My family loves paella and it is my son's favorite birthday dinner.

I can't even begin to describe the amount of time that I've spent over the years looking for short grain rice for Paella -- and I live in Los Angeles. It shouldn't be that big a deal to find rice for paella -- but it is. Then I got the idea to look on amazon. The price was good and I didn't have to go on a scavenger hunt. Oh -- and this rice is terrific. There weren't any surprises -- the package is the right size -- and it cooked and absorbed the liquid from the Paella as expected. I don't make paella frequently -- a few times a years -- so a 1 lb bag is actually perfect (I believe this bag is actually 1.1 lbs). The quality and taste was excellent.

You want this rice for paella. It absorbs the flavor-rich broth and crisps up nicely on the bottom. This brand from Spain is like others I have bought: good quality, similar price. It is not cheap compared to regular, long-grain rice, but if you want authentic paella, go for it (and you are going to splurge on saffron, anyway, right?).

I have purchased from this brand often. However this past time, both bags of rice came filled with about 100 or more black bugs. It was disgusting and I had to throw it out. Will not be purchasing from this brand again!

Excellent rice for paella. A solid value, too. Every bit as good as Matiz Bomba Rice. Will buy again.
