Perfect size for the two of us.
I bought this jar before I received an answer to my question about compatibility with the Ninja Intelli-Sense Kitchen System. Not only does this work perfectly with the System, it works better then I expected. The one thing to be aware of is that large pieces of fruit can get caught if you are not careful. I would've thought that this was obvious, but apparently it is not since I saw a user review on another website that criticized it because his large fruit got stuck..duh. For my wife and I, the jar is the perfect size for our morning homemade kefir and fresh/frozen fruit smoothies. The 24 oz is too small for two breakfast smoothies, and while the 32 oz cups do work, the 48 oz jar gives us more free space and therefore, never leaks from overfilling. I am going to order two more. FYI -- I think the reason I am the only person. so far, that has reviewed this jar here, is because Amazon is currently offering the exact same jar (XSK480ZW) on another webpage for about $5.00 less. I'm not sure why because I can't imagine that the other ones are refurbished??

Works perfectly with the 900W BL 450-70 Pro model
Works perfectly with my older 900W BL 450-70 Pro model.I couldn't find a good answer (re: compatibility) in the "questions" section - nor is it listed as compatible in Ninja literature - but if you've got an older BL 450-70 Pro model (original Nutri Ninja Pro) this WILL fit your OEM motor/blade assembly and WILL function perfectly.I use it to make green smoothies w/frozen fruit/fresh greens/protein powder/walnuts/ice/etc. No issues blending ("nutrient extracting"...) whatsoever - works just as well as the 24oz containers. Definitely recommend if you're trying to make 2 x smoothies at a time - which I was struggling to do with the 24oz container.Note that NONE of the current pictures show the jar alone - which is what you get. NOT the jar/blade assembly, or the jar/power base. JUST the jar. Also note that the "top" (top when installed in blender) does NOT come off. It ain't designed to - even though there are a few reviews up here complaining they "couldn't get the top off"...it's sealed up and (so far, at least) does not leak when inverted (blade assembly/opening on top to fill or pour). Essentially this thing is just a larger version of the 24 and 18oz mixing jars provided with most Ninja blenders.Hope that helps!

Excellent large container for juicing!
This is a wonderful addition to my Nutri Ninja!I pre-make my "green juice" in a batch to last a few days and store in the fridge. This container is perfect!I can load it up with twice as much as the 24 ounce container that came with the Nutri Ninja instead of needing to do two different batches. The main ingredients I use on a regular basis are:lots of bagged fresh spinachmini carrotsa medium applefrozen berriesfresh gingerCrystal Light Green Tea (peach, raspberry, or pomegranate) in place of water.I definitely recommend!

Better than a blender
I like being able to blend larger amounts with my Ninja, as its more powerful than a normal blender, However, not sure if its the shape or the size of this vessel, but it does seem to have a harder time integrating everything, sometimes you have to stop and stir it up to make sure everything reaches the blades. Still works better than a normal blender, however.

Now I make batter once a week and eat a quick and easy breakfast, every morning
I bought this because I am on a ketogenic diet. I make keto waffles for breakfast almost every morning and I wanted to make a large batch of batter to last a whole week. This 48oz jar fits the bill perfectly. I use one of the flip drinking lids to seal it up between uses. Now I make batter once a week and eat a quick and easy breakfast, every morning. It is made from the same plastic as the glasses that come with the Nutri Ninja mixer and has measurements marked on the side. The black top is actually the bottom of the container so you have a nice wide solid base. This thing will be hard to tip over because... PHYSICS! Anyway, if you need larger mixing capacity for your Ninja, this is the way to go. All the standard lids and the blending base with the blades, fit just as they should. No leaks and no fuss.

Great size
Just received this, and it is a life saver! I make large smoothies, about 24 oz with lots of kale and spinach, and needed a bigger cup. I was about to buy a new blender, but found this cup, and it works perfectly! It fits two handfuls of greens, plus frozen fruits, and protein powder and all the other stuff i add. Ha! They have improved the handle, it is not open on the sides, so no leakage at all.

Nice addition to my Ninja.
I do smoothie meal prep. I store my frozen goods in 32 oz cups with lids. I can use this & dump all of the frozen goods in from the 32 oz cup & then add in my powdered ingredients & then the liquid ingredients & let the Ninja do all the hard work. This thing ends up making 3 glass bottles of smoothies from this process which is exactly the amount that I take to work with me. It has made my life so much easier. As far as it not grinding things up........When you fill this thing up, I put in my frozen fruits first, then frozen veggies, then frozen greens, then the powered goods, finish with the liquids. The whole thing gets flipped upside down & the heavy (fruits) stuff pushes the other stuff down onto the blades. Seems to work well for me but I always load it in this same order every time.

While it it works as intended, it's disappointing that the top does not open. Overpriced
I have a Ninja BL642 and I am very satisfied with the blender itself and some of its accessories (the 24 and 32 oz cups as well as its coffee grinder XSKBGA). I am not so impressed with the 72 oz pitcher, for which I'd like to be able to use the same blade assembly as for the smaller cups, but it's not possible. So, I ordered this 48 oz jar as an alternative to the 72 oz jar, and I was expecting to be able to open the top. (I did not read the description in detail or the reviews to determine in advance whether it opens or not from the top. It does not. I plan to keep it but I was disappointed. It would be easier to clean and to fill if it could be opened from the top.
