Where can i get other guides? i'd like them for around the 40s too. my benchmade uses a 30 angle. do they make these?

There is a 15 and 17 degree guide available from WorkSharp. The angle is per side not inclusive. So the 15 degree will put and overall 30 degree angle on the edge. The included 20 degree will give you a 40 degree edge. I find most modern steel pocket knives need the 17 degree guide to sharpen the factory edge without reprofiling.

Why did he remove the device to sharpen the Hatchet?

Easier to get the sharpening surfaces on the hatchet edge. No other reason. With knives, unless they are very large, using the base unit works better and helps hold more accurate bevel angle. Thie size of this unit, being fairly small, is best for smaller to medium size knives. Personally, I would use a coarser stone for a hatchet - not this unit - unless you're going for a super sharp edge, which won't hold up with typical hatchet use.
