Light, Strong and looks the business! First, I should point out that this is not full carbon fiber, it is carbon over aluminum, which is not necessarily a bad thing! This is light and still gives you excellent strength. Thought the 17 degree angle was going to be too much, but it was actually perfect for my needs. This stem far exceeded my expectations and looks stunning on my Carbon Schwinn S20! Combined with a glossy carbon set of handlebars, the look is spectacular! I am quickly becoming a big fan of RXL SL Carbon products! I have purchased several items for my bike and they have all exceeded my expectations!

I have been using this on my gravel bike all year and have many mile off road without issues.

I really like this stem for its light weight and sturdy construction, but had issues. Trying to attach this stem to the same brand handle bar wasn't possible with the faceplate screws provided with the stem. They were too long and the bars were still flopping around when the faceplate was tightened to the correct 4nm spec. In other words, even when tightened, the faceplate was still too far away to make a tight fit around the bars to hold. Simple fix by using the screws that came with my stock stem on my specialized bike, but still something that needs addressed with the manufacturer of these stems. Either thicken the faceplate or simply provide shorter screws that don't bottom out before making contact with the bar. Also had a very minor chip appear where the cap meets the stem and happened when tighten the top cap. Seems merely cosmetic, but time will tell. I'll update if it becomes a structural issue, but so far I'm fine with a tiny blemish and feels solid. As ive said in my handle bar review, ya get what you pay for so you should almost expect some issues or imperfections. Otherwise, spend triple or more for a brand that BETTER be flawless for thier price tag. Stay safe out there everyone!

This stem was delivered quickly and as described. It installed easily and was performing well until on the first outdoor ride one of the stem bolts loosened and fell out. I have been maintaining my own bikes for over 15 years and often adjust stems without this issue. I also have this same stem in a longer length and have not had this issue. Maybe this was a fluke? In any case the stem is useless until I can get a replacement bolt set. It was not clear how to contact the seller about getting a replacement bolt, so I am posting here. I would be happy to update my rating if I can get a new bolt.

Its pretty nice. Not full carbon, its alloy then carbon covered, which is really what you want for strength. Initially, I thought they sent the wrong length, but it really is an 80 mm. (50 yr old man with short arms) True 17 degree angle, and shorter length gets me more upright. Lower back cant take the Aero anymore. What good is aero if you're uncomfortable and get back aches? Nice looking, Can't be beat for the price. Thanks much.

I bought this product in 2022 and it’s used on a second ROAD bike stored in my condominium in Maui when not in use. This product was used for ~2,000 miles on paved roads only. The carbon is showing wear, and I’m now unable to tighten the bolts sufficiently to prevent the handle bars from rotating; I use a torque wrench and have tried “over tightening” by several nms with no success. My recommendations …. Buy a different product. If you choose to use this product …. BUYER BEWARE THE DANGERS… Use carbon paste on the handlebars AND disassemble and closely examine the carbon itself regularly. I ride at least 8,000 miles annually and have never experienced this type of failure on any of my bikes over the past 20+ years. I’ll stick to name brand (Trek, Specialized, Ritchey) products in the future.

Bought this as a budget option to test out a bar riser with more rise. Fit nicely, there are some blemishes in the material and it doesn’t seem to be the highest quality but based on the price, still 5 stars. It brought my bars up enough and corrected my fit on my cannondale slice triathlon bike.

The quality of this stem exceeded my expectations. The unit is well made. Once installed, it performed as well as other carbon fiber stems that costed 6x more. Since carbon stems are rare (not as many on the market as they were 15-30 years ago), I decided to try this brand. I wasn’t disappointed.
