You will enjoy long rides on this seat
I discovered Wittkop seats a few years ago after hearing a bike reviewer recommend them as one of the first upgrades for any new bike. Before switching, rides over 20 miles would usually end with serious saddle soreness that made the rest of the ride uncomfortable. Since changing to Wittkop seats, that soreness is completely gone and I can enjoy the entire ride comfortably. The seats are durable, well-made, and a great value for the price. I now have one on all three of my bikes, and my wife uses them on hers as well. Lastly, Customer Service was amazing. I had some questions and received prompt and courteous assistance.

Thousands of miles later, I'm going to buy a second one for another bike
I started cycling last year and didn't believe they hype train for the direction many people take the hobby. I avoided shoes that snapped into the pedals, I didn't buy the fastest possible bike, and my seat wasn't going to be a 3in piece of hard plastic that had a non-zero chance of being inserted into an uncomfortable position. I've learned that my bike frame does make a difference, the pedals don't to any significant degree, and my seat has viable comfortable options available. Last year I challenged myself to ride a century ride (100mi) every month. In July I rode back to back 125mi rides over two days (total of 250mi) on this seat. For a man with a slightly wider hip set (I'm 5'11 200lbs) the touring seat is a dream. It's formed so if you're seated right your butt bones will connect in the right spot, but it also provides additional cushion. I've put about 3000mi on the seat so far, and while it looks used now, there are not splits and signs of significant wear. Many people warned me that cushioned seats will hurt you over time, but anecdotally I have proven that incorrect. If I rode 250mi over two days and this seat didn't cause sore/welts etc, then I'm inclined to believe it will work for just about any amateur or hobby rider. You're still going to need to get used to it. Cycling will always hurt your butt after hours of saddle time, by the end of the season last year though, my butt felt just fine after each new century. Buy this one. It's the best bet for a sore butt. Also, don't forget to use an anti chafe/perspiration cream or bar. The seat makes you comfortable, it doesn't do magic. Quick Update: I bought a carbon fiber road bike from Canyon and wanted to try the road variant of this seat on it. While the seat is cushy and the same quality, my hips just don't want to connect with the smaller seat as well. I've doubled down and bought a second "Touring" edition so I don't have to move my original touring wikkitop seat back and forth from my hybrid and road bikes. Anyone that is a smaller frame or narrower hips, the road variant may be your go to, but for me I'm just going to continue using the touring seat. UPDATE: I've completed about a dozen century rides and one ride of 170 mi. I've also bought a second of these seats for my commuter bike. For my butt this seat does the trick. With bicycle shorts I get no saddle sores and very little sore butt. Keep in mind that any seat is going to hurt when you first start, you have to condition your body for bicycling Update 2: I've now ridden STP (Seattle to Portland) and can say this seat held up to a 200+ mile ride. I have noticed some breakdown in the cushion of my original seat. This is after about 5-7 thousand miles. I think that's reasonable durability. Eventually I'll replace that seat, but I'm still using it now. This seat remains 5stars all day.

Some good, some not so good with this seat.
Good: at least partially thoughtful design, nice appearance. I like the the level of friction in the seat covering. Not so good: as others have noted, the memory foam is pretty stiff. The mounting structure of the seat limits your ability to tilt the front of the seat up, even to level, and I would like it to move back farther than it allows. While I like the covering material in terms of texture, it is fragile, my bike tipped over and the seat got a small rip in it from hitting the ground. The seat that came with the bike was tougher than this. I want to like this seat. This is the "trekking" version and it definitely positions me in a more upright position than the factory original seat, mostly because I can't move it back as far. I have ridden with it a couple of one hour rides. It is not as comfortable as I hoped, but is a tad better than the original seat. I hope we will adapt to each other. If the padding was a little softer and the mounting rails were longer and angled so you could raise the front of the seat a little more, and the covering was a little thicker and more resilient, I would like it a lot better. Update 3/31/2025 - After a few rides with this seat, I rode on different bike that has a different seat (factory issue) that I used to think was OK in terms of comfort. I hadn't been on that bike in a year, and I found the seat on it to be uncomfortable to the point of being painful, even after several rides where I thought I'd get "used to it". My explanation for this is that the seat that is the subject of this review is enough better that the contrast is very noticeable. I would still prefer to be able to slide it back more and raise the front of it a little, but my opinion of it as-is has gone up a notch based on this comparison, so I am elevating my rating to 4 stars instead of three. It does not cause the pains of the seat on my other bike, even on longer rides. I was able to repair the small rip mentioned above with a dab of black "liquid electrical tape", which I believe is a form of vinyl. It is compatible enough with the seat covering material that the rip is not nearly as noticeable now.

Very comfortable on road bike
Wonderfully comfortable and easy to install! I bought a road bike off Facebook marketplace and the seat was as comfortable and hard AF. It was nearly impossible to sit on it. I saw this bike seat it looked good. Good price. Very impressed! I wear padded shorts while riding and it’s very comfortable! Great upgrade.

Zero pain after riding 150 miles over four days... ABSOLUTELY AMAZING SEAT! BUY IT!!!
I wish I could give this seat 10 stars. I am not an avid bike rider, but last July I rode the Great Allegheny Passage with my two kids. It's about 150 miles that we did over the course of four days. I did one 30 mile ride in preparation before we left and a few shorter rides around my neighborhood. I used the stock seat from my GT mountain bike and my butt would hurt after only a few miles. By the end of the 30 mile ride, my butt was by far the sorest part of my body. After four days on the GAP trail, my body was sore generally, but nothing nearly as bad as butt. We decided to ride the GAP trail again last week. Before we left I figured I would try another seat. A lot of what you read says the seat doesn't really matter and it's more about just getting your butt used to it by riding a lot, so I didn't think a new seat would do much, but I figured for around $40 it was worth a shot. I ordered the touring version. After doing basically no training beforehand, and riding my bike 150 miles in four days, I had ZERO soreness. This seat is FREAKING AMAZING. I did wear mountain biking shorts that were padded for two of the days, but that was more to prevent chafing than anything and I really don't think they were even necessary. Honestly, this seat is 100000 times better than the stock seat. I was thinking it would be an improvement, but fully expected to be in pain to some extent, but I literally had no pain at all. I was amazed about halfway through the first day when my butt hadn't started hurting and even more surprised when I finished each day and zero pain. Overall, I would give this seat 10 stars if I could. It's super comfortable for long rides and looks great too.

Everybutty's different.
251214: Every butty's different, so take this review with that in mind. Initially, I was pleased with the comfort of this saddle over my previous saddle, which was closer to a quasi-comfort road saddle from Selle. On rides up to 12 miles at a time, it was more comfortable than the Selle. When I rode it 27 miles one way and then 27 miles back, my butt was in enough pain on the ride back that I was taking opportunities to stand on the pedals to get my butt off the saddle. This experience made me look more closely at the design. It has two prominent pads that rise up to meet the butt bones, which does provide cushioning, but over time that cushioning, focused only or primarily on the butt bones, became uncomfortable for me. I have switched to an X-Wing saddle, which has a still-cushioned but flatter sitting area. After a couple of short rides, I'm liking it, but the real test will be a lengthy ride next spring. (I should mention that I do not use padded cycling shorts.)

Worth the money
Fantastic saddle! Very comfortable. I wish I had this on my bike when I used to do 50 plus mile rides.

Comfortable for road biking
Super solid bike seat! Way more comfortable than my last seat. I’ve been doing some road biking lately with my mountain bike and I needed a seat for that. This one works perfect! The cover that is included is a nice touch too.

Comfy
Bought to replace a stolen Brooks B17 and this is immediately more comfortable (because I don't have to wear it in). One of the rails snapped but that was after just over a year, so I figured it was out of warranty. This has happened (at one point or another) on pretty much every saddle I've tried barring the Brooks and I was able to weld the rail, so its still in use. And yeah that's likely down to how I'm mounting the saddle (almost as far back as it'll go), where I ride (rough tracks and paths) and my weight (85kg). That said, I would definitely buy again.

Veramente buona
Promossa a pieni voti comunque!
