The devotional is outstanding. I took one star off because I received a used book instead of a new one. I paid for a new book. The cover was dirty and a little worn and someone had written in it. 😞

Really enjoyed this book!

This book is one of the most fulfilling devotional I have read. I purchased one for a friend and another for my husband last Christmas. I started reading it in the mornings and it is like I cannot get enough of it. Dr Evans focuses on a topic weekly and the daily readings takes you deep into the Word on these topics. At the end of the week he gives a summary of the topic and challenges you with something to meditate on for the weekend. I love the section of Faith where he focused on Moses giving up a life in the palace (with Pharaoh) to be identified with the people of God (the Hebrews)! He is very practical by challenging you to write down things that you did during the week by faith, what you gave up by doing those things and how you think that God will bless you. This book is for both the beginners and those who are deep in their relationship with God. God bless Dr Tony Evans!

Very good devotional

The book is absolutely awesome. I ordered a hardback edition to gift to a friend. I paid extra for a hardback edition. They sent a softcover, no explanation, no price difference refunded. Very poor service...

This book has been such a blessing to me. I'm only on the 4th month, but every topic it has covered has been relevant engaging for me.From your relationship with God, to your wife, your mother and father, raising your children, and money. Topics relevant to the modern man pulled straight from the Bible and laid out in direct, easy lessons. Each month covers an expanding topic over the 4 week period. Dr. Evans makes it interesting and entertaining without all the flowery, overly preachy language that I find in most devotionals. Some passages are convicting to the core.This will be one that I will cycle through for years to come as the lessons are worthy repeating.

I've had 'Time To Get Serious' in my personal bible study rotation for over 10 years now. I am a pastor with several devotion books in my library. This one remains one of the best I have ever seen because of its simplicity, layout, spiritual depth and emphasis on application. I still use the 12th month every December to prepare my heart for Christmas. The month on 'Faith' inspired a sermon series that I wrote a couple of years ago. The month on marriage is solid. It's the first devotional that I recommend to church members asking me for something to freshen up their quiet times. Awesome job, Tony!
