Great book about a man who defies authority when he knows authority is/was wrong. Lots of very interesting venues/scenarios and this man, if hedid HALF of what was written in the book, is one of a kind. He learns, studies and defeats the enemy at every juncture with thoughtful "out of the box" approaches to different situations. When you think things should be approached one way, he finds a better, more efficient and successful way but is criticized for his actions - no doubt because he has shown the authority guys that just because they are more educated doesn't mean they are right in their assessments of various situations. I think if our military had more of these kind of men, that wars would be won sooner and casualties would be much less. I highly recommend this book particularly for Viet Nam vets and all military and former military guys. This is one book I'd read more than once.

Fantastic story of a great American leader and warrior that challenged the system, and pushed his troops to be the best! Loved the RED Cell stories of making Bug Humpty Dump Admirals look like morons with their base security! He totally embarrassed them. A leader who wasn’t behind a desk but with his troops jumping HALO from 35k feet! Unfortunately the “F’D” him in the end. But he still got the last laugh! Book deals and fiction novels! Good on you Demo!! Loved the Payton theater speech.

This is my all time favorite book. Couldn't hardly put it down.

Years ago, I borrowed this book from a friend, read it, and loved it! Today, while between appointments at my local VA , I overheard some older vets talking about the Seal teams and was immediately drawn in and reminded how much I enjoyed reading this book, so I've just ordered a hardcover copy to read again. It's unfortunate that we live in a world that requires military might of this harshness, but we do, and I'm so thankful the Seal teams (especially team 6) are on OUR side! I've seen guys like this in action, and, believe me, they're almost unbelievable.

I love this book. Yes, he's arrogant at times. Yes, he's crass. Yes, he gets trashed by other special ops guys. But his writing is different than any other special ops author - and I've read quite a few. He lets the personality come out, which is refreshing. You get he feeling that he's not holding anything back.

This man is unbelievable Soo many ways! He writes the truth of how things Really work with Gov.,Agencies and Operatives whilenot giving away critical names. Yes people- he is the real deal and how the hell he is still alive is a real miracle! Thanks DemoDick for letting us into your world!

anche per questo libro prima dell'ordine avevo telefonato per la certezza che fosse in lingua italiana e con la sovracopertina come la foto,il libro è arrivato in inglese ed è con la copertina di cartone non capisco ho richiamato e la risposta dal call center non mi ha soddisfatto mi hanno risposto un pò scocciati ,sono stata scema a nn chiedere il nome dell'operatore,per il reso stesso discorso 7euro e 50 per l'etichetta.non sò se farò ancora acquisti su amazon su 4 prodotti 2 sono ok mentre gli altri 2 assolutamente no.devo dire che mi è arrivata una email dicendo che i 6 euro e 50 me li avrebbero rimessi sulla carta di credito e che il libro potevo tenerlo.
